The lack of communication on certain issues is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful

As some of you might be aware the Nightmare and visions update introduced bug with servers being assigned latency at random, resulting in a wrong and distant server being chosen at default.

The bug was acknowledged and we even have promise that it will get fixed in the next batch of hotfixes, at least according to Julia.

So all should be good, right? The bug is acknowledged and fix is coming!

NOPE

All isn’t good!

Simply because vast majority of people that are affected by this bug ain’t aware of it. And that’s clearly a problem, because when people in the EU aint aware that they are playing on the Hong Kong servers its a bad thing, on several different levels actually!

Now i could go on and on about how EU players playing on Hong Kong server makes this game several levels of unfit for purpose due to insane rubberbanding, lag and disconnects due to various 20xx errors.

But i wont…

I could also go on about how not fixing it within the first 24 hours is rather…well how do i put it…is rather being a Fatshark, isn’t it?

But i wont because factors past my understanding might be at play here…

However what i’m gonna complain about is the lack of communication and absolute disregard for players, those that are affected byt this bug and even those that ain’t.

How is it possible that the players haven’t been warned about it? Where is the pinned topic on steam and here on forums telling people to check their default server before sesssion? You have launcher, couldn’t you use it to inform people about it?

How come that players being hijacked to the other side of the world isn’t a big deal warranting a pinned topic?

“We are aware of the bug with the servers, please check your default server before session”

How is that hard? And why not doing it is seen as more acceptable than having people playing on the wrong servers with seriously affected quality of experience?

You might say “if you know about the bug just change your server and all is good”.

And you’d be right, i did that but i’m not always the one starting the game, which goes back to the issue of Fatshark failing to inform people about it.

And to be quite honest its a massive BS that a players should inform players about this rather game breaking bug while Fatshark can’t be bothered to invest 5 minutes informing players about an acknowledged bug they are aware off!

Also just for the funzies, this is how my Mourningstar looks like for the last two weeks

Seriously Fatshark, why is not telling people about the servers being all over the place more acceptable than people having their experience impacted like this?

Is it result of arrogance? Incompetence? Legit disregard?

When you acknowledged the bug, not a single neuron fired and make you realize that letting us know would be a good idea? Was starting a pinned topic too hard? Are the letters that expensive or something? Do you have better and more pressing things to do than giving it a 5 minutes consideration?

That’s why I’ve been keep getting rubber banding, lagging, disconnecting and all sorts of issues even though my own latency is fine, it’s because someone else in public games keep getting connected to my region from another one far away!

This game is pretty much unplayable now during the time of day when other regions are active.

Perhaps @StrawHat could really chime in on this.

Hello hello, I love your passion! I understand you’d like to see a pinned post dedicated to this issue. The reason there’s no pinned post as it stands is because we simply haven’t received all that many reports, and it doesn’t appear to be consistent. I’d like to reassure you there’s no malicious intent behind this decision. :slight_smile:

That said, I acknowledge we may not have total visibility on the scale of the issue, and we’re continuing to monitor incoming reports - if reports ramp up or if this issue shows itself to be more broadly impactful I will absolutely make a more visible announcement.

It’s my understanding that part of the issue is the server selection not being honoured, so simply asking players to double-check their chosen server may not always help.

You won’t have to deal with this much longer though, because as you’ve already seen this will soon be resolved in 1.7.4. Have a beautiful day! :heart:
