I have put 100’s of hours into DT already and then suddenly I cannot get a Damnation game with anything but bots, and my Malice games usually have bots in them too. My play time has to happen late at night or early morning and now the Mourningstar is usually empty and I cannot get a full team. Why draw up more lines in the sand and force people to exist behind them? ‘Online’ is supposed to to away with this! I have a 100 MB/s fibre line and have never had any latency issues in this game. Please hotfix this recent change and alllow us to play with others from around the world.
Bump.
Being region-locked is still problematic and can alter players experience.
As an example, I’m European, not in Europe, and due to my geographical location, I always end up on an Asian server where it can get difficult for me to communicate with other players.
Time zone difference also means it can get difficult to find full lobbies as I might not play at the same peak hours.
I get that it’s meant to offer the best experience based on latency but that’s not the only factor that should be considered imho.
Other games like Insurgency Sandstorm and Hunt Showdown allow us to choose multiple or single server regions.
Even in Vermintide 2, it’s possible to filter the lobbies in the browser per country/region.
Please add a feature to allow us to choose regions/servers.
Regional locks should have long since been a thing of the past. Somehow gaming companies still haven’t figured out that asking players to choose between their friends is a bad thing, and I guess Fatshark is no exception. And that’s assuming you even get a choice of region to begin with.
By all means, have regions if you want, but the ability to jump between them should be a given.
