The game is being re-balanced for the xbox?

Overly dramatic maybe, but after today’s session, my first in a few weeks, I got the distinct impression that there are changes afoot to make the game xbox crossplay compatible. At the expense of what the game was.

  • Far far fewer hordes (trash like pox walkers)
  • Smaller in number, but grouped specials and or shooters.
  • Shooters doing more damage.
  • Fewer horde rushes

This was at t5

If I were a cynic, and I am, if say it feels like they’re reducing the server load on numbers of enemies, and trying to replace that with toughness wiping squads to keep it “as difficult”.

Hmm.

You’re not wrong.

I felt distinctively there is less horde and distinct increase of ranged enemies suppression. T5 hordes seem to pose little threat which was the fun factor of the game of being overwhelmed. It is more cover shooter now and Vets are more important than ever.

There is even thread two days ago about ranged enemies suppression and damage, so coincidently with this.

I’ve been trying to keep aware of any news about cross play but nothing mentioned either way.

If they did implement it would make sense to not change the experience for PC players. It would make sense to give console players increased advantages because they can’t whip turn. But maintain same experience as PC players.

  • Aim assist
  • Quick button for 180 turn
  • Actual use of analog stick for walk, run and dodge depending on extent of stick movement.
  • Allow console players to natively use mouse and keyboard. Apex Legends and Warzone allows this.

I find it funny how some console FPS games you have to use L3 to initiate run when there is a perfectly usable analog stick to determine walk or run based on how far stick is pushed.

There is argument Xbox One, Xbox Series X or S can’t handle rendering large horde, so maybe that could be factor. But dynamic resolution scaling should sort that. An Xbox player should feel the full crowd horror experience, even if it means lower resolution kicks in temporarily.

I might be wrong, but I took a break after the huuuge skulls event. Yesterday I played around 10 missions and I was thinking that the hordes are bigger than used to be. But there might have been a bug or something earlier, causing smaller hordes.

Anyway, the hordes are nothing compared to VT2 and that is a problem. If the xbox can’t offer even this experience, then the xbox community can not be allowed to play together with the pc community. There is no reason to worsen our experience. The game is way too easy the way it is now.

Word is, no.

Nah man, best case scenario is that they are trying to get the gamne to run at an acceptable FR on console so they can fulfill their MS contract and then abandon the console release ala VT2. Hell they still have trouble getting AMD hardware to work, guess what consoles use?

I do feel that players overall have gotten much better with horde clear. Everyone playing damnation at this point generally have tier 4 blessings on their weapons that allow for stronger horde management to wipe them more easily (slaughterer, headtaker, brutal momentum, etc). I personally have not gotten the sense there are any less shooters or specials.
