We need new classes, even in the form of paid DLC that is acceptable.
“in operation” makes it sound like live service. we only have the bad parts of live service though like always online and no soloplay and rotating store and retention mechanics. meanwhile the good parts of live service (reactive updating, cycling events, active content development) are left out completely.
this is to say the answer to your question is most likely “never” just like how it’s been “in operation” for two years and we still have an unfinished item concept where weapons cap out at 80% of a modifier bar. the devs have no plan. 0 idea what they’re doing. we already are at 120% power with weapons at 80% so this is nonsensical at this point anyway.
compare to an actual live service game like monster hunter wilds which will have 12 large title updates in 12 months adding difficulty and player power alongside it, totally planned out, all while taking community feedback surveys and reacting to them accurately. fatshark could never. all they can do is pretend this is what they do

Fatshark is still working to balance and manage talent trees first introduced nearly a year and a half ago for classes launched nearly two and a half years ago. The game doesn’t feel ready for a new class.
I would pay for a rattling sapper/sniper/trapper dlc

Classes=Branches, we got 8, nothing ever mentioned if more are/were planned at any point.

There most likely will be a Skulls Event for 2025. If so, I’d estimate for it to begin sometime in May as per usual. We might even get lucky and hear something this month about the next Darktide Update, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. StrawHat said she’s working on a Post pertaining to Havoc Deranking, that much we do know.

At this point, i think were screwed. I would love to get a Skitarii or rattling or hell maybe even a scout marine, but i just don’t see it happening. It’s rare enough to get new weapons at this point. Honestly I’m not sure what Fat shark does all day, they must only have like three people actually working or something…

hmmm… no. Too many problems to solve with just one new, that I cannot think that they could add several.
I don’t want to be the bad guy… but 3 archetypes and 3 branches… 3 x 3… = 9
Considering we had 3 at start, it means they have given us the equivalent of 9 - 3 = 6 “classes”
I understand what you mean and this is me being selfish, but I’d really like to have at least one new personality (voice actor) for every current class instead of new classes or alternatively, I’d like to see a new talent tree line for every class instead of brand new classes.
However, as you said, Fatshark is already struggling to balance what we have so I won’t get my hopes up too much…
4 Archetypes (Ogryn, Zealot, Veteran, Psyker), each with 1 class each (Respectively: Skullbreaker, Preacher, Sharpshooter, Psykinetics)
Where the classes became 1 branch, where we added 2 branches to each tree
→ (3 Branches - 1 old one) x 4 Archetypes = 8

No we don’t. We have everything covered,and a new class would cost a lot to make, just from voiceacting standpoint alone. We’ll probably see new talent trees or more branches in the existing ones.

It would be too difficult to balance and to place that correctly in a tree… what would be on the left or on the right would always be too far each others.
And not even talking about all potential synergies that can create problems in the game balance.
