[Swift Bow] A Buff

That is good idea for swiftbow, similar to how smgs are balanced in a lot of FPS games.

What’s keeping it out of this niche is the charge shot time. It takes exactly as long to draw an arrow as the Longbow, while requiring twice as many headshots to kill elites. It doesn’t need to be an elite killing powerhouse, but it does need to be at least capable of the job, or it won’t be a viable pick.

Before it’s rework the Huntsman Longbow could make near-instant charged snap shots by finger rolling. That would be a good feature for the swiftbow to have. It wouldn’t even need a damage buff since rate of fire would high enough.

Making it swap weapons quicker and giving it improved dodge would be the icing on the cake that really sets it’s playstyle.

A perfect example.

No-one is saying they should be the exact same, they’re saying that they should have a niche they excel in. An actual reason to run them over other things. Acting like people want every weapon to excel at everything is ridiculous.

Which is pretty much what every pve or pvp game aims for, they don’t just go “oh well it’s cool that these weapons suck because I guess you can pick them anyway and maybe win”. Games like overwatch have even had people reaching high top 500 on some of the worst heroes in the game, but it doesn’t mean that those heroes are actually fine and not in need of changes, and pretty much all of them did get further buffs or even entirely reworked.

It’s already viable, because viable is such an insanely low bar. Being able to beat a run with it equipped and do alright is so crazy low that there would never be any reason to buff any weapon if that was the goal.

Having the only reason to run a weapon over another be “it’s different” while just being explicitly a worse weapon in every way isn’t good balancing or game design. I don’t think I should really have to explain why that’s the case.
