Overall it’s a decent weapon, estetically my favorite and captures the 40k Psyker feeling great!
But my problem is it scales poorly with high intensity on difficulty 4-5, or even normal difficulty 5.
The problem lies with it not beeing able to directly target anything at all, and just hitting closest target infront of you.
A big aspect of the staff is stunning enemy targets, example incomming specials for the team!
The surge staff is also good vs certain targets (armour) and very weak vs non armour.
But with no way to aim it, it becomes close to impossible to actully attack what you need to attack when playing on difficulty 5 or high intensisty. (Low intensity 5 is fine).
Basically it’s so many small mobs constantly that eat your attacks that you can’t target that pox burster running through the horde even if you can see it clearly, and the damage for a fully loaded attack (2,5 seconds from start to damage apply) doesn’t even kill a single pox walker (not a problem if you could shoot at what you need).
Or you can’t target those 3-4 gunners at the back because tons of horde infront.
What I suggest is a targetable original point of impact! then random where it jumps to from there.
If you aim at an enemy, it should try to target that first! having the lightning jump over a few small mobs to the side of your screen if neccerly to stun the threat your team face.
It works better at difficulty 4 or below or low intensity 5 because it’s just fewer mobs overall so you get to target what you want better.
This would make it preform bit better overall but mostly make it viable at higher difficulty settings, and adding a skill tier further for it aswell.
