Surge staff rework idea. Vermintide 2 examples

There is always some drama around surge staff. It was a broken stagger machine before patch13, than it was broken dmg machine. Seems there is indentity crisis with that weapon.

And i don’t see why you can’t copypaste some good ideas from your own previous games and mix them a bit. Fromsoftware does this everytime.

So:

  • Remove auto aim, it’s just hard to balance - which bodyparts it should aim, how many targets, etc. (plus it’s a cnacer)

  • Make surge primary attack to be short distance cone like Sienna’s beam staff primary attack (shotgun basically but this time with lightning effect)

  • For secondary attack it can be a single target projectile like bolt staff secondary

  • Adjust damage/perill/stagger/cast time etc.
    So it’s primary is less effective for clearing armor/mixed hordes compare to other staves, but secondary is better for picking out single/armored targets (kinda like charged plasma but no penetration)

Would be nice to see blessings like Blazing Spirit or Surge on such staff.

Now you have jack of all trades master of none staff with atleast some skill to use involved.
