Probably one of my least used archetypes for vet ranged weapons, was wondering what variants and blessings you guys would suggest for trying it out. I assume you take Onslaught and than either Falter or No Respite but I’m not totally sure. Feats I’m not too worried about because I assume its just the same loadout as running a Kantrael Las.
Which mark of lucius are you thinking about running?
For an mk3 i use onslaught and sustained fire since i build that mk to one shot targets and no respite wont be useful.
For the other marks i still use onslaught and either no respite, sustained fire or surgical, basically i take what i can get as long as i got onslaught.
I don’t really know, was asking what people think the best one is. And you like sustained fire on the Luscius? How does it work?
Mk2 with onslaught (and anything else, really), is your default all-purpose ranged deleter. Mk3 with onslaught, surgical, crit chance perk and Deadshot talent is your big boy elite/special deletion machine.
In either case you will find the long equip time to be annoying, but it may or may not be a problem depending on how close to the frontlines you enjoy playing.
Thanks for the advice.
This was the bit that turned me off from first playing it, as in general I’m a very aggressive vet and like to get in the thick of things. And the Luscius can especially suffer during some of the end of mission gauntlets where you are getting swarmed from all sides.
Yeah, there is really no way to be in melee and then quickly switch to helbore to kill an incoming danger. You absolutely need to run a mobile melee, so forget powersword.
Edit: Caxe 5 or Caxe 2 works for me, but some prefer Taxe for even more mobility.
Second edit: You should run a mod so you can modify the (lack of) crosshair. Also makes it easier to take advantage of the helbores being pretty much pinpoint accurate even in hipfire, in those really sketchy situations.
Onslaught depending on the mark can range from really good to nice to have. Personally been running Mark3 with Onslaught/surgical + vets crit talent and with a mobile weapon like axe.
No respite seemed to do nothing for me in my testing because it just does not consistently stagger enemies with the first shot and if it does its probably going to die either way with the 2nd shot.
Yeah I’ve not been able to get No Respite to do anything at all even on the Mk3 in testing.
Thanks for the heads up, thought it would be one of the more important traits but good to know it’s not.
Yeah sometimes (all the time) there are blessings for weapons that… just make no sense / don’t work. Possibly the stagger from a weakspot hit is enough to trigger it, but… eh…
You might get some milage out of no respite if you run falter but i never had the luxury to roll a lucius that has good enough Falter roll to try this one out.
Most important enemies lucius already pretty much 1-2 shots so the benefit would only come against enemies with higher HP pools such as reapers. So is it really worth putting 2 blessings into getting those 1-2 breakpoints you might or might not get is doubtful in my eyes.
Just run onslaught and get faster shots out instead. Thats at least how i see it.
I’ve heard people mention this before, what mod and settings do you use for it?
“Crosshair Remap” on Nexusmods.
It has options for charged ironsight dot or chevron for instance, and you can pick which one you want for hipfire and which one for ads, for any ranged weapon in the game.
I believe I have it installed but haven’t messed around with it yet, was moreso asking which crosshair would you recommend for it if you remember, so I don’t have to mess around in the Psykanium for a bit.
You just have to try and see what you like best. Charged_iron_dot is what I ended up with for both ADS and hipfire, but you may like charged_iron_chevron better.
In general I hate Chevron crosshairs so I’ll probably do the dot. Ty for the recommendation.
I’ve been running my MK2 with lvl 4 surgical and infernus, its been serving me well. Surgical builds crit chance, and fire DOT helps finish off tough targets. Still wish the sights were better and the melee did more damage.
