Subpar experience on Radeon GPUs

Issue Type (Required):

Other

Issue Description (Required):

Hey Folks,
I have played the game on both GPUs and want to report the subpar experience I saw on Radeon GPUs.
The GPUs I played on are RTX 5080 and RX 9070 XT
They are described as follows:

  1. Horrible frametime performance - on Radeon GPUs the frametimes are abysmal. The game hovers around 100+ fps but then sudden dips from 100+ fps to like 50 and getting back to 100 fps. Only this game has this issue on the card, I did not see it on any other games I play. This goes away if I play on all settings low, on medium/high at 1440p the dips are back. I did not see this on RTX cards.
  2. on changing costumes/clothing the game stutters on loading every single item, I did not see this on RTX cards.

Thanks.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Frame time issue:

  1. from setttings change the overall setting to medium/high, turn off all upscaling and raytracing
  2. play the game, notice the frametime graph and 1% lows

Asset loading stutter:

  1. Make sure you have decent amount of clothing available
  2. launch the game, go the hub area.
  3. Click I [inventory button], go to appreance and click on any clothing to select from the number of them (which you have unlocked)
  4. notice stutter on each of them loading.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Poor Performance & Power Draw Issues Impacting AMD Radeon RX 9070

@FatsharkJulia can you merge this thread with the main one so this is not lost?

Windows, can be really dumb. It may have decided in it’s infinite wisdom to download a much older driver from windows’ repo. I know some gpu reviewers go to the length of downloading DDU and the latest drivers, disconnecting from the internet, running DDU and then installing the drivers, before reconnecting to make sure windows didn’t do a dumb.

Thank you, I’ve moved it over.

I switched from a 6900xt to a 5080 at launch of those gpus.
I can confirm the performance jump is massive and visual quality between the radeon and nvidia gpu is very very very much noticeable.

I don’t think much effort ever was put into optimizing the game for radeon and performance actually slowly got worse for my 6900xt.
FSR implementation was also simply bad.
