9070 XT, bad stutters and frequent frame drops

Issue Description (Required):

I upgraded my GPU to a 9070XT from a 3070ti and my overall framerate is little bit better, getting 90-120 fps on high(no RT) with FSR set to Quality but I’ve been getting terrible drops to the 20-50s that last for a couple seconds at a time, as well as some very frequent stuttering(terrifying when a crusher overhead is coming!).

The power draw seems a lot lower than it should be as well, usually around 80-110w while most demanding games pull more than that.

Attempted Solutions (Optional):

I’ve tried messing around with settings and don’t notice many big changes, lowering some makes my framerate a bit higher but the drops are still there.

I’ve done a fresh driver install with DDU when upgrading so there shouldn’t be any driver issues. No other games are having these kind of issues and run perfectly fine.

Tried these config file changes I fixed stutter and textures not loading in! (Texutre streaming config file change) as well as messed around with worker threads, nothing seems to have worked.

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

[PC] PC Specifications (Optional):

9070XT
Ryzen 7 5800x(don’t think its the problem here as my 3070Ti was doing fine)
32GB DDR4 @ 3600
Game is installed on a NVME SSD.

yeah i feel that also i uprgrade my rx 7800tx card to rx 9070tx card last weekend i still get heavy stutters even with fsr mods even marvel rivals runs way better i still kinda disappointing the really poor optimized of darktide even we are 2 years in the game

try turning on hyper-rx
lower your in game resolution to one step below native with will turn on upscaling and AMFM2 frame generation
I run -60mV, +0mhz, +10% power limit

in game settings are like this (except the three I have here on extreme, had to make those High):

I’m using widescreen 3440x1440p so that is the resolution to set in game

it runs great for me on 9070XT like this

you’re welcome mate!!! ENJOY!

try this same type of setting with any game, it runs Helldivers 2 REALLY GOOD TOO!

but the resoutions will go back to my native resoutions everytime i chanaged on darktide

I noticed this too, I tried putting it in windowed mode in the launcher but I have to change the resolution every time I start the game

it same happens for marvel rivals i want to use super resolution it will reset to my native resolution

yeah many games are showing this behavior. I just know to check it each time as the adrenalin pop up shows if the upscaling is active and if it’s not I know what the answer is, go change it and everything else is fine

P.S. I hope the OP tried these settings!

P.S.S. I hope Fatshark implements native FSR4 support!!! @FatsharkStrawHat

Somehow i still get alot of stutters even i did super resolution the root cause might be my 5800x cpu that cause the stutters even with the rx 9070tx

5800x should be fine for Darktide. That’s what I’m running and had no issues with stuttering and had pretty good 1% lows while I was on my 3070ti, only started becoming a problem when I swapped to a 9070xt.

i hope that fsr4 will be way better than the current one

Have you tried disabling ULPS in registry? ULPS causes all sorts of issue on my RX 5700XT. Not the same card, but AMD drivers are dumb.

whats that

ULPS (Ultra Low Power State) is a power setting that regulates power draw for hybrid gpu and multi gpu systems. It makes the gpus draw less power when idle, but also screws some single card systems. Google for more info on what it does and how to disable it.

still darktide stutters and alot of frame drops the game is realy poor optimized and its fatshark own fault

There’s an official post about the 9070 XT issues. FS is looking for additional details from players having issues.

i hope that they are gonna fix it anytime soon im slowy losing my patience

Have you tried answering their questions in the thread I posted to help track down the issue? They’re looking to track down and since not everyone with a 9070 XT is having issues, the more info they have the more likely it will be they track it down.

i have realy bad stutters like in gameplay and inverotry
