Why designers cannot understand and respect the time people spend on their game?
Blocking blessings by rerolling another blessing is the dumbest idea ever to inflate game time, the only thing achieving is pissing off players that want to continue the game after reaching 30.
I want to know that if I play for x amount of time I can achieve what I want. Forget the idea of trying to make the weapons the way you like, because that would make the game fun and give players a target to craft said weapon to try that combo for example.
The game looks great and captures the theme excellently, but it feels like they have never played their game or that they care at all which ruins the hard work of so many people on a could-be awesome game.
It’s not made for us, it’s made to keep us on a treadmill so we keep walking past that stupid cosmetic shop. So I just haven’t turned the game on at all in a while. Until the predatory crap is gone I have better games that actually respect my time and money.
I am so glad seeing more threads like that popping up. Some of us have been saying that to FS for years now, and for months since closed beta when it comes to DT. In the end the RNG was one of the reasons people gave up on this game, but Fatshark just can’t freaking wrap their head around concept that players are not interested in wasting their time, since most of them have jobs and limited time to play.
Hell, they also don’t understand that GOOD GAME will make money. Take DRG for example, I bought all DLCs there just becasue game is so fun I want to support devs. Elden Ring sold huge becasue it was good game etc. L4D/Team Fortress are played till this day. Good games will sell, good games will be played.
But FS just can’t get it. It’s like trying to squeeze water through stone. “THERE HAS TO BE RNG OR PLAYERS WILL LEAVE!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN PLAYING FOR FUN?!! WHAT IS THAT??!”
Hell even a mediocre game will make money if it respects the players and their time. I have a bunch of mediocre to bad games in my library where I decided to throw them some extra cash because the game was/is still fun to me and it respects my time and commitment or lack thereof because of real life.
I’m not even against a system that has a really lengthy endgame progression where you make tiny incremental gains over hundreds of hours played. I actually enjoy that kind of thing. It’s just the game saying, “I see your dedication and I appreciate it.”
What I hate is when I can’t dedicate myself to a build I love, and instead am expected to just throw hours of my life into a slot machine for a slim chance to get the build I want.
Main thing I don’t like is you can’t aim where you want to progress.
I suggested a while back now we get drops we should be able to aim for weapon types or blessings or perks but we still have to do the highest level of content to have the best chance at getting the 380 or T4 blessings we want.
With that if I wanted to get a full unlock of every blessing I could actually aim for it and run missions for them.
