So I’ve found that the Stimm Supply ability, when used with a stimm, does not activate Chemical Dependency. Just wanted to know if this was intentional or not? It seems a bit counter-synergistic to where you have to stimm, then use an unbuffed Stimm supply, if you want to use the keystone, which kinda removes a lot of its appeal for taking that keystone and stuff.
Just wanted to find out if that was intentional or if it’s bugged and is supposed to activate the keystone in that side of the tree.
Nah its intentional. It’s there to make you game out whether you share your buffs or stack the keystone. Playing aggressively to proc cooldown off kills with that modifier node (and the toxin spreading one for max cooldown) is how you generate extra needles to use for keeping dependency maxed. I wouldn’t bother with the 4 stacks modifier atm unless you are running a weak stim. I’d also avoid the extra stim duration modifier because it means 5 more seconds before it starts recovering.
I knew about the avoiding 4 stacks unless it’s a weak stimm, and the extra duration making it technically have a longer CD as well, along with Sample Collector letting you get it back off CD.
I suppose I’ll just use Adrenaline Frenzy or something instead then for my support build
At the 11th hour the early play testers noticed a particularly exploitable 4 ganger 4 stim supply set up that let you have infinite ults, and they made some changes that basically gutted the ability/keystone. Hopefully some rebalance is on the table for it in 2026.
Yeah, the nuclear reactor of medkit chem bombs. I know they cut the CDR granted by the keystone, and added a CDR lockout for the ability, but I still would have thought that using the ability would activate the keystone associated with it.
Currently, using stimm supply feels overcomplicated to me, in terms of managing durations and cooldowns. Simpler to use Rampage if you want to help the frontlines.
It’s not that hard, I am using bone saw, all 3 sub talents for stimm crate ultimate, talent that gives 2sec cool down on killing tox enemy and one fully upgraded stimm tree, specifically the one that gives speed, because bone saw as slow as fatshark.
I never stimm myself directly, use it only via crate, which gets shorter cool down due to talent of killing toxed enemies. But I am thinking switching to shivs and proc toxin on crits, which I already use for bigger stacks of toxin.
Probably what I’m going to wind up doing, grab Adrenaline Frenzy and its duration augment, maybe stacks on kill as well or longer stack duration. At least for my support build
Well yes, that’s what I’m doing. The issue is that using the Stimm Supply ability with your Cartel Special doesn’t grant a stack of Chemical Dependency, so the ability doesn’t activate the keystone associated with it. We can get our stimm back pretty quick, and refresh our Stimm Supply, but it seems like at present the keystone only works if you use the Cartel Special or a regular stimm on yourself, but not by using it to enhance your Stimm Supply ability
i agree, the wording is quite terrible. and if this is replacing cartel (custom stimm). then I would be ok with this, but then Sample Collector and Chemical Dependency should count towards Stimm Supply.
If Fatshark have no intention to change this, then its a completely useless ability. Why would I waste my ultimate and/or cartel for just one of those to be active. This is an ultimate, it should count separately. OR again, make the other talents count towards Stimm Supply.
The bonesaw is amazing with some attack speed. I thought it sucked, but I was just straight up using it wrong and building for it badly. With even a little bit of attack speed it’s so good.
Well yeah, Heavy Sword is still an absolute lawnmower, it just struggled into carapace and most of the other classes with access to it have a similar option that does better, i.e. Relic Blade/Eviscerator, Power Sword, Dark Moon I mean Blaze Force Greatsword
Yeah, but with hive scum you can hit like 80-85% crit, and the crit headshot numbers aren’t bad on the heavy sword. It’s a skill ceiling, sure, but it makes it preeeetty damn effective. Or you can just save your blackouts for crusher clowncars.
