About the Stimm-Pack

The “Chemist” line of the Hive-Scum (the right side of the talent tree) is the first “archtype” in the game where it’s ability is incompatible with it’s key stone. If you use the Stimm to gain/maintaing the keystone buff, the stimm-pack is just an underwhelming buff (maybe it’s also a bomb if you got the upgrade, but it is still underwhelming) and if you drop the stimm-pack, consuming the stimm, you get the buff but you don’t receive the keystone buff (even though you are still being stimmed, just not through stabbing yourself with a needle).

I really like the “Chemist” idea, i also enjoy picking one thing and sticking with it, so i felt pretty bummed out when i discovered that if i wanted to use the stimm-pack i had to either go to another key stone or have an incredibly mediocre skill, so i propose two possible solutions to this.

1 - The Stimm-pack no longer consumes the stimm and every time you drop the Stimm-pack it always buff your team mates even if the stimm is on cooldown BUT you (the player who used the stimm-pack) can’t receive the stimm buff from it (the corruption cleanse effect you still receive, just not the equipped stimm buff). This would allow for the stimm-pack to be used apart from the stimm, allowing you to buff yourself and your team without making the keystone unusuable when using this ability, or…

2 - When you get Stimmed through the stimm-pack it also counts towards the keystone buff. This one is way more straight forward, this allows for the player to use the stimmpack as is intended without trivializing the keystone.

The stimm-pack right now is very underwhelming to use (at least in my opinion, if others enjoy it as it is i have no problem with that) and i think that a change similar to the ones i mentioned would make it way more fun to use it than it’s current state.

I think it works fine as is. You get the dependency buff, OR you survive a huge fight easily because everybody has huge attack speed and damage.

I understand what you are saying, but at least for me it’s very underwhelming to have to choose like this, if i use the stimm my skill is pretty much useless and if i use the stimm pack i lose my buff. I find it pretty punishing since sure, the damage and attack speed buffs are good, and i know that i could be wrong here, but i don’t find this buffs that powerful to entail such choices. I’m currently using Adrenaline (which i find pretty boring as when it procs i only see a very slight improvement in melee perfomance) because having to micro manage the skill and the key stone simply isn’t fun for me.

I could be wrong and making both skills work together could be very strong, but considering that other classes have lot’s of strong sinergies already i don’t think it would be that game breaking of a combo to run a stimm pack hive scum that can mantain it’s “addiction” key stone up without having to choose one or another.

All in all i appreciate your comment, most comments that i see about the stimm pack are brief and it’s a skill that i really like so i want to better grasp how others view it and if i might be mistaken on how i view it.

The main use for the stim pack when using dependency keystone is as a damage dealer and or corruption cleanser. The hint is in the crit chance node under dependency. You’re meant to be spamming melee crits, applying toxin, killing those toxic enemies, and replenishing your stim, so that you can keep spamming your stim, maintaining dependency, and using the crate as extra dps. OR you supplement your team with it. I don’t think many people realise how utterly broken it would be to give your flame staff psyker 15 seconds of strength and 15% rending every 30 seconds. That would utterly break the game. Everyone seems to forget that. They say they want the ability to work that way, and then the moment they buff their team mate who utterly obliterates everything on the map instantly, with constant uptime, they’d call it overpowered and ask for it to work how it does currently.

Fatshark just need to fix the tooltip to say it doesn’t stimm if you used your stimm already, and that the supply pack does not give dependency.

Try running this: stimm supply with 5 second duration and 15 second lingering effect, 7 stacks on explosion, and getting your crate every stim. Then chuck strength and crit on it, and use a bonesword with 4 stacks of dependency and crit with cleave and extra toxin stacks on crit. You’ll tear through hordes while giving your crate back once between stims, and it can be used to place down as a DoT mine to one hit maulers and ragers and do considerable damage to crushers. For extra credit take 3 toxin stacks on blitz with blackout grenades, and almost every single crusher and bulwark clowncar is no longer a problem because instant 10 chem toxin stacks. It’s literally the perfect tool to deal with bulwark spam because when they push you into a corner you just drop your crate and suddenly they don’t really have any HP left and you’re alive.

It’s overpowered as hell, it just doesn’t explain the interactions in the tooltips properly.

I prefer the first solution as it gives a choice to the player
