Steam_appid.txt found

Can’t get game to open, Get a pop up after hitting play on launcher that says something to the affect of “steam_appid.txt found, hit okay to remove file” and this error just keeps looping.
I did not play the previous beta and have not made any files read only in my steam folder.

  1. Open steam
  2. Navigate to Library
  3. Hit Play
  4. Launcher Opens, hit play
  5. steam_appid.txt found pop up opens, hit okay to delete it
  6. This error loops with no progress on getting game up and running

You should be able to work around this by hitting cancel on the pop-up.

Also, have you set either Launcher.exe (Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Darktide Playtest\launcher) or Steam.exe (Program Files (x86)\Steam) to Run as administrator? If so, disable it.
