I want a system that doesn’t make me think. It should be intuitive and easy to engage with. Whether there’s some grind to get materials isn’t a big deal. But I shouldn’t hate myself or the system after crafting something that turns out garbage perks/blessings for the materials I worked for.
I want a system to open up after a certain amount of time where I can just make what I want. I’ve engaged with the current system long enough, learnt enough over time that I hate it.
Poll is too binary…
first poll it is low grind, high grind, don’t care… Middle does not exists?
How you ask it, everybody will say low…
second is interesting…
third it should be asked do you want a looting/crafting game or a mission game (style left 4 dead)
also, the poll won’t bring any information about the incoming patch…
I think the low grind is what Vermintide 2 essentially was (once at level 30). It’s more about some people saying “max” items don’t matter because the game is easy enough. So it was more to separate to see how many people thought the constant, and practically impossible chase, was desired or seen as necessary. The question is how many hours should it take to get a single max item? 30? 200? I think it’s important to put an actual number on the expectations. What one person may see as reasonable (low, moderate, high, etc.) one person may not.
I think it would show most people would be disappointed with the incoming patch. Since it will be a “high” grind based on the math to get max items.
But you could also accept that there are rare items (blessings by example) and want that you get common blessing easy to get on your weapon.
This is what we will get. And I am fine with this (at least I can live with it).
as I said, I don’t need the perfect weapon…
Actually what I want I will get it once they release the patch…
I will get a good revolver with hand cannon 40% and surgical +4%. The revolver has good penetration, damages and critical… but bad in reload and mobility, but i don’t care of these.
I want a combat axe with BM + thrust for my zealot. I have the BM blessing and the axe that has good modifiers and thrust +15%…
So, the system can give good “common” weapons.
The question is more “Do you think that there should not be rare blessings?”
If the answer is yes, then they need to remove these blessings cause they are stronger than other blessings and so not balanced if they are common.
Sure, you say you don’t need the perfect item, but I am talking of people who DO want the perfect item. And several sets of perfect items. It’s disingenuous to say perfect items don’t matter if that’s obviously what everyone’s long term will be. If you get “good” or “ok” weapons and curios on all characters that doesn’t mean you will suddenly stop ever looking at the shops or crafting. It’s psychological, and the experience is bad. If the game is too easy, I can tell you people that are lucky enough to roll max items make the game even easier. It shouldn’t be balanced around that. The game should be challenging with max and perfect items and reasonable for everyone to obtain them otherwise you have to balance around good/ok combinations and perfect weapons can just plow through easily.
But no there shouldn’t be rare blessings. They should all just be balanced.
That’s the question… yes or no
We could even imagine they remove blessings and all we play with same weapons…
Well why have useless blessings that no one wants? Just seems frustrating. And sure, I, personally, would prefer just having all weapons unlocked over the system we have now if we had to choose between two extremes (familiar question).
Or do a point base system. No RNG at all but different blessings, and their tiers have different “costs” and you use points on blessings, perks, and modifiers. But that’s too much work. Something like removing the locks on perks and blessings, which still has grind (especially trying to find T4 blessings per weapon and per character) is more reasonable (to me).
That’s exactly what I would have wanted…
But, it won’t happen sadly.
But about rare blessing, if everybody can get rarest blessing, I really think it would be better to just limit to one same weapon for all. Like in Left 4 dead.
You start the mission, you choose your weapon and let’s go.
And we solve nearly everything… no question about the balance of materials, no question about odds, no question about balancing blessing…
Just pure gameplay…
VT2 & 1 had single tier blessings.
Made rolling them a lot less frustrating than mashing “reroll perk” for 2h for no cost til you get your T4 perk.
Nothing wrong with that.
They could scale the strength of trait with additional fusions or smthg.
You could, I just think it would go the other way and cause player dissatisfaction if there was no customization on your weapons, but I think it would probably cause more people to be happy I guess.
I just think balancing all blessings or limiting what blessings can appear moreso on which weapons would make sense. It shouldn’t be based on rarity and some being objectively better, otherwise people will all just chase the great ones and be frustrated they can’t get them, especially at the tiers and combinations they want. To me the easiest least disruptive solution is to remove locks and make all blessings equal in their rolls for tiers and type. So balance it, or remove it. If no one uses limb splitter, buff it or get rid of it.
SImple solutions provide the most satisfaction.
+crafting system is simple af and really doesn’t warrant people focusing on it.
I mean it ain’t PoE’s crafting ![]()
