State of the Game: 6 Months Later, How do you Feel?

Whenever I’m actually playing it’s mostly great, except for the lack in variety. Everything outside the levels is better to just ignore because of how boring, tedious or uninteresting it is (crafting, cosmetics, “progression”,…).

‘Disappointed’ is the right word.

Its a horde shooter, dude. If you want to take a nap there are better games.

and what is worse, if you get around to killing hordes, you want more, and you cannot because of low-intensity

One thing this whole “enterprise” with Darktide and FS taught me is that I am definitely NOT buying any future FS developed or produced game.
Imma wait 1-2 years and buy it on discount; maybe

Don’t forget VT2 launched with tripple the amount of class variety.

Which would have been not as much of a detriment if they had tried some other kind of class system, maybe that item based system they were talking about in interviews, maybe more Borderland-esque skill trees, but no, exactly the same structure as VT2. And then immediately try to damage control by saying classes are not careers.

From their early interviews where they were talking about unique gadgets every class can bring on a mission it was almost like in Payday 2, especially when they mentioned stealth moments. But here we are.

tbh, there are unique weapons per class, hence checkbox is ticked, and its bright green. just next to crafting checkbox.

you could also count granades as gadgets, each class have different version of it, psyker ones are the most stealthy ones, as intended. another checkbox ticked.

game is in great state, great success

i hate this game

i have like 2k hrs in it. i stream it everyday. i prefer it to all other coop pve games. i dont care about the crafting, or rng, or mtx shop, or w/e ppl whine about. i only care about the basics: maps, talents, careers, etc. since day 1 those basics have not been addressed. since day 1 have to turn it off because of junk azz low intensty maps on tier 5 all the time, while low tier maps constantly get the harder, more fun modifiers. i like this game but i still hate it

Sure, why would you care about those whiners?
Why would you pull your head out of your ass and question whether these issues are for the majority of players that DON’T have nearly 500, let alone 2K hours in the game.
"This thing that affects 99% of the player base - whining. Just invest 2K hours into this game bro! No issues with item variety. Problem solved, mate. :+1: "

And that’s true… VT2 was about careers like in WH Fantasy. And tbh, it was not enough…
Here we have classes and subclasses.

I am with @Reginald here… they are working on Xbox. Until they release that, don’t expect more than just balance tweaks, few bugs fixes and release of delayed content.

You must be kidding, it’s exactly the same copypasted system. Same class archetype (characters in V2) which define nothing (i suppose hidden stats ties to subclass, not class) and subclasses (careers in V2). Same 6x3 feats (talents) tree and subclass specific 4 passives+ultimate. The only difference is nades and ogryn subclasses maybe always will hame more hp than the rest of archetypes.

xbox will be hard to achieve, this games runs like a patato. next gen console is needed to run it

I caught your streams early on - I appreciate your playstyle and picked up a lot! Keep it up, as much as you can stand the game at this point…

I second your statement - while we focus a lot on the crafting of the game, there are other avenues of content that are sorely lacking - #every3months, for example.

New weapons and maps should’ve been the bread and butter of this Live Service…

You don’t get me…
I don’t say there are differences in game, I say that the concept is different.
You can release a game with 4 classes… you cannot build a career system with… just one career.

I would say that this is not something that bother me that there was only 4 classes… However I want more content… I want also the game be more friendly toward casual players. We need more people.
I pray for the release of the xbox version… to see devs returning to development of the game.

I think the different careers and being able to easily try different builds/ weapons are what increased the longevity of VT2. With the current systems in place, players are getting tired quicker. There’s nothing new they can do other than create a new character.

Their (Fatshark’s) terminology is ‘archetypes’ for characters (like in VT2), and ‘classes’ for the subtypes of an archetype (funtionally the same as careers in VT2).

If you’re going to blindly defend them with semantics at least get the terminology right, and they weren’t talking about the names, they were talking about the functionality and how they are structured. And in the end there is very little difference between the two.

“They’re called different things so obviously they’re different.” is not even an argument. The entire pain point of there being only 4 classes is “If they are so similar, why are there only 4?”

Either more build depth for classes/archetypes or more classes per archetype would’ve been fine with me.
