Had to find this out the hard way, when i tried to take cover behind an ogryn to revive an teammate, and got downed as well by a gunner shooting through the ogryn.

The game’s cover system as a whole is basically Vermintide… just with more shooting enemies.
But at least, in vermintide a shield block blocked the shots from hitting anything behind you…
