Specials shouldn't door-spawn directly on top of players

Specials can come out of spawn doors directly on top of players. Just tonight I had a pox burst come out of a door in melee range of myself and a teammate and immediately explode, and a trapper pop out of a door at close range and immediately net a player. This is frustrating in the extreme as there is practically no count-play.

It’s challenging enough when normal units come through doors right next to players, but when disabling specials do this it’s straight up unfair. A big part of Vermintide’s strategy was picking up on special unit sound cues and preparing for their attack. While Darktide specials also have distinct sound cues, they are pointless if the specials can essentially teleport right to the party.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to require that the AI director spawn specials at a minimum safe distance from all players

And please a sound effect for doors opening.
It ain’t much but it’s actually one of those moments where the environment provides the design with an adequate solution.

Yeah, especially pox bursters

Yeah if they only made the change to the pox bursters I could live with that. Even if you’re looking at the door they spawn from there’s nothing you can do to stop the huge damage and corruption hit.

An audio cue for doors would be wonderful, and if they could make it so that enemies that go back into them and clip underground stop making sound cues that’d be wonderful too.
I’m looking at you, full-volume dog sounds.
