Special Live Event: Rumbling Giants Live Now

I must admit me too, though in a way it’s just hilariously ridiculous. I took my favorite in the past thammer and eviscerator zelot builds I haven’t played in ages, and just had fun butchering dozens after dozens of stupid ogryns. it was a nice change of theme. It was amusing to see firing squads of reapers at times too, really made me freeze in awe and laugh lol. Until you have a boom bringer punk on your team, or inferno psyker, then beter quit and queue again unless it’s Auric - or they’ll suck all fun out of it.

Event is fun. Thank you.

“All explosive barrels become hazards” - what does this mean?

All barrels are “active” = explode - wish they’ve added the “extra” large knock back that was in the previous “explosion” event. Interzone map was deleting 50% of team before first healing station in that event and it was funny with all quitters

I want to see a major update next month.

I like the sound of this event, I love Scab only with barrels etc, pure chaos.

Shame there is no Aquilas again :expressionless_face: if you guys included Aquilas in the events as a regular thing, I would actually start buying Aquilas.

As it is right now I will never spend a single penny on premium currency until you start including proper deals or earnable Aquilas.

Well. final reward should be a few shop coins to exchange cosmetics. I already paid for a lot and it would be nice to get some, or give better reward than this. a weapon skin? piece of armor skin? or something like that, and give more from 10 to 20 wins, with more plasteel and diamentine. Beacuse why the purpose of doing the event after 10 wins? And maybe additional item drop after finishing event quest?

This may be a controversial opinion, but I don’t believe that events should give away free aquilas; but, they should be far better and offer more than they are now.

As we have previously discussed on the forum; events can be used to experiment with current game mechanics and enemy behavior or to test out completely new and potential future baseline features.

Making a modifier with permanent walls of Carapace and Poxbursters spawning out of your :peach: gets annoying very quickly, and most people (I believe) will stop queueing for an event like that once they’ve obtained the JPEG from the last event tier.

More importantly, Fatshark please start working more closely with your playtesters who are playing the game on a difficulty higher than Heresy.

We’ve gone over this several times, but you guys (Fatshark) have absolutely lost the plot on Darktide’s balancing and I worry a bit for the future of the game.

It doesn’t have to be 500 per event, but a pittance of 100 on event completion when they are super low effort and doing “30 events a year” is such an easy win.

But FS and their defenders will say “people will still complain” like some sort of justification. No shite, people will never stop being people.

There are just so many easy small wins that it’s clear FS has no desire to actually be player friendly, seemingly all because someone was mean to them on the internet.

Grow up and eat some surstromming for the much needed chest hair.

No thank you!

I haven’t had surströmming since I was a young boy, and it’s still too recent!

It’s not the taste that is the issue (it actually tastes pretty good), but the consistency of the fish has this… dog/cat food feeling to it?

If our planet becomes a 40k hellscape where you must pick between surströmming and corpse starch, I’ll definetly go with the former though!

I can get behind on 100 aquilas for an event.

I have never tried it and I never will

It could be the most tasty thing ever and I would still not eat it, rotten fish smh…

ehrm. accktuahllyy!!

Surströmming is not rotten, but fermented.

The process involves, lightly salting the herring and place it in barrels which prevents the fish from rotting.

Essentially, it destroys the fish’s protein, creating a harsh, acidic flavor and odor, but also preserves the fish for an extended period of time, which was an excellent thing before we had these flashy freezers of the modern day. :fish:

Now they got all of these fancy machines to do it (cheating):

I know but I prefer to say rotten as a way to display my distaste

It smells rotten so might as well say rotten lol

  • this is really a crappy and the worst event until now
  • its literally just blockade spawn after blockade spawn mixed with ridiculous amounts of pox buster spawning in chains from around
  • no fun included and the rewards are mediocre
  • it feels like just a poorly idea of “doing sth”

Please put that effort either into new maps or more QoL feature in the client and fixing sound issues for specials / disablers (currently its getting more and more worse) … that would be great.

I don’t know what the correct term for it is, but among the Bullwarks and Crushers, there are suicide bombers who, upon death, drop a grenade that explodes and damages players. This goes against all previous experience in the game: the player has already let their guard down, thinking the Ogrin is neutralized, and then—surprise! Remove this vile mechanic, double the number of Crushers and Bullwarks, but get rid of this vile mechanic

It would be a real tragedy if anything new happened ever, true.

That weird grenade on death really is just a horrible idea. One time one of those grenades blew a teammate off of a cliff and they were hanging on, I’m trying to help them and my other teammate kills an ogryn behind me, setting off a grenade and making me fly off too lol.

Like I would understand if it was some strategic choice whether or not to kill enemies at certain times because of these grenade drops, but that really isn’t how it is in practice. It’s just annoying and makes no sense. My little story I gave in the beginning is really the only time those grenades have ever affected me in any way - other than making me question why Fatshark would do this.

Ok so today I’ve actually enjoyed the event.

I think perhaps the rage quitters have all rage quit and don’t want to do it and I’ve been left with people who wait to be rescued.

I’ve not had a single quitter in the last 3 auric events and on one game there was 19 deaths :joy:

Thank you for the list, where did you get it from? (just curious)

As for the Grenade Regen, my group of regulars is wondering if it’s really one grenade per kill, because the regen seems much more random to us, sometimes refilling used grenades almost immediately, sometimes “starving” us of them in apparently the same situations with seemingly enough Elites and Specials being killed in coherency.

We looked at the code and wondered if it’s actually a 10% chance per kill because of the [proc_events.on_minion_death] = 0.1 instead of 1, but we don’t know nearly enough about the Darktide code to be sure.

Can someone here confirm or deny this with more certainty to ease our curiosity? You’d have our deepest thanks.
