I Haven’t played since the classes overhall… and was thinking about coming back. Could you please tell me if anything, ANYTHING has changed since ? Or is it still the same game without any big new “wow they added that ! and changed this !” effect ?
If not, going back to helldivers 2 ! New big update next thursday… have to farm medals and spread democracy
Over the last 6 months since the class updates we got the Carnival missions and some Shovels. They’re going to update Pennances for a bunch of cosmetics grinding “shortly”, and Fatshark put out some vague copypasta about crafting being possibly after that.
In short, there is no reason to be distracted from the call of Liberty at this time Citizen.
So the main thing we got was a big, 3 page balance change to a ton of weapons, and after that we got the big update “The Traitor Curse,” the focus of which was a new biome and a pair of 2 new baddies, named The Twins.
Also Veteran talent tree got some additions and changes a bunch of times, like actually having 3 keystones. These changes are still a little bit divisive.
For a limited time one of the Twins could ambush you during a mission and retreat after losing enough health. This was a lot of fun and incredibly stupid that it was limited time.
For content, we got a selection of new weapon marks (not full new weapon families, just more variations of existing weapons) with some pretty interesting balance choices. We got 2 new maps in the new biome, the Carnival, which are 2 of the best maps in the game imo. Also the ending music of 1 of the maps is my favorite track in the game. Additionally we get “stimms,” which are discarded heroin needles you can find and inject into yourself or others for temporary buffs.
A big draw of this was the Twins Boss Fight. It was a mini mission, that had a long boss fight against both twins at the end. It also had a secret hard mode you can unlock. The boss fight and its hard mode were actually a ton of fun to learn and complete in a 4 man over the course of an afternoon, but after that afternoon we never played it again.
