When are we getting a proper Bullgryn setup FatShark?
I know people have asked over the years, but I’ve been away from here for a few months so forgive me if people have asked for this since Arbitrators dropped (though a quick search didn’t turn anything recent up).
Since we have the Subductor + Shield and thus now know there’s functionality for aiming a ranged weapon with a shield raised, is it too much to ask for a Grenadier Gauntlet + Slab Shield setup again?
For example:
Left click tap → Flail around with a mixed GG + Shield L moveset combo (GG L1, Shield L2 etc.)
Left click hold → Flail around with a mixed Shield + GG H moveset combo (Shield H1, GG H2 etc.)
Right click → raises the shield and aims the GG
Weapon special → GG punch
Come on FS
Just look at these silly lil guys…
Reload animations might be the problem for the GG+Shield
Just do the Goldeneye 64 reload
Why do this when you can overscope every minute detail of the game and then insist upon its necessity for future content, even if it renders you nearly unable to produce meaningful updates to your live service game?
(Staged reloads are pretty nice though.)
Which would be ?
Brace of Grenadier Gauntlet could be a way, though more comedic than anything else
Unfortunately, I don’t think Fatshark will do that from an artistic standpoint… It would probably look strange to others as well… It’s a tough one…
I’m sure they’d figure out a way if they rub their B.O.N.E implants together, I mean as a quick and dirty option, if it’s used alongside the shield, maybe they nerf the damage/ range a bit?
Then you could say a weaker GG would use smaller, lower powered grenades or it’d have a shorter range etc.; ask James Workshop if he’s alright with the dev’s scribbling down a sketch of a new GG: one that’s top/bottom-loaded (possibly with a shorter barrel etc.).
Could have the GG ammo stored on the inside of the shield model; animations as simple as banging em together - Ogryn Style
I’m just spitballing here, but to me, it’s such a missed opportunity that they still haven’t given us, what I’d consider the Bullgryn weapon combo - the one that’s just so quintessentially Ogryn.
Give us the Paul + Brute Shield as well FatShark… come on don’t make open another topic in 6 months 
I remember it was a question discussed long time ago.
Make it so GG rounds are hooked on some sort of a rail mechanism behind the shield. So ogryn just makes up to down move with GG loading it up.
While it doesn’t make sense you can store so many rounds there, (who cares, Saltz pistols exist) it probably can work as an animation, without some weird moves or leaving the reloading process outside of the screen.
Or ogryn puts his GG on magnetic stripes, and manualy loading it. But it’s the more complicated one.
just make the wep disappear offscreen it’s fine
i don’t think we’re gonna get major content anymore though, the power falchion was their unique new thing of the quarter. and it’s basically a mechanical remix and the animations are suspiciously close to the devils claw. i think darktide “real” content pipeline (think actually new stuff like talent trees, fully original maps, actual gamemodes) is over. maybe shield + wep is enough of a low effort remix to make the cut though
Are people thinking that FS is shutting down or something ?
I think people are just reacting to the slow pace of development and the Unreal Engine 5 job postings.
There’s nothing definitive, but if you take Barktide as a representation of the entire team’s pets, then statistically speaking there likely aren’t more than 15 employees working on the game in-house. The recycling gender-neutral cosmetics models aren’t a great sign either. And if you compare directly, Vermintide 2 received about as much content as Darktide - albeit more thoughtfully designed, that map was great - in the last month.
