Is anyone else confused as to why ogryn doesn't have access to grenadier and kickback with slab shields?

It’s not just me that’s noticed this right? The models have grenadier gauntlets with shields and the middle talent tree shows an ogryn with a slab shield and a kick back, anyone else noticed this?

Everyone noticed it, but it’s immeasurably complex for fatshart to make such an addition to the game.
Just like, you know, a belt fed heavy stubber like the one shown on the left side of vet’s skill tree. Impossible to do!

what looks good (and works in tabletop I guess)

and what balances well in the grand scheme of things (looking at you dueling sword)

are two seperate things and I guess the defensive value, paired with the talent that taunts enemies upon blocking, dropping their ranged and try to engage in melee, would be such a case of “op”

I would also like to have these. It would improve Ogryn stuff in general.

Yeah, the lore and tabletop representation is so limited for ogryns that combos of existing weapons (dual cleaver, shield and x etc) might be the simplest way for FS to get new ogryn weapons approved.

I still think weaponised industrial tools would be cooler but I’ll take anything if the combos are good.

Being able to use grenadier gauntlet and shield would be a most welcome addition to the Ovryn arsenal.

GG and Slab Shield seems super doable with how arbie shot pistol turned out. And crowbar showed you can just add different attack modes to anything.

I’d more interested to see chain axe with shield. The ogryn still dont have single target weapon with revved attacks.

Also I’d like to see the blocking better integrated into the combat system, because combat with shield in current game state is same dodge dancing like with any other weapon. Dodge may be performed at any moment of attack animation (while block isn’t available during swing), much less risky and does not require investment in perks.
