You’d be suprised then, it’s just as good if you set up your build right. The only spot where it loses to the 'volver is when it comes to nuking crushers, otherwise you can 1 to 2 shot everything like the zorona while being leagues better in the ammo efficiency dept. Problem is you gotta minmax the sh@t out of the build and gitgud with Deadshot + Opening Salvo magazine and stam management. Which is manageable if you regularly overperform with revolver builds. The build I linked effectively runs as a singleshot shotgun build that still beats the zorana in the RoF and volume of fire depts.
It also knockbacks monstrosities meaning it makes DH pulls less problematic since it knocks it back AND buffs toughness making whoever has the aggro able to survive longer.
It’s the mobility.
If you are not utilizing it, then it’s no different from other sharp sticks.
For me, game becomes much easier with a knife. Paired with infiltrate, i’m almost feel immortal.
Was even able to outkite Dh one time, with my whole team dead.
I’m sorry, but this is just pure cope. Sorry you weren’t able to make it work, seriously, actually put in the time to experiment with it. It’s the weaker of the three but it is viable, and unless your kit and/or skill sucks you can hold down an angle with it just fine. Geez, some of the best builds for vet I’ve seen currently do most of their DPS with minimal ult uptime.
What often has the effect you describe is when people mismatch their kit and talent synergies, are the noobs running greys/greens/blues in T5s and Aurics, or just fail to contribute to the team’s overall DPS during high int, high diff runs. Your kit, and/or skill is what often dictates this, not your ult.
Must be nice to be one of the dozen people that manage to have decent latency in this game, lmao. No h8 though, I’m legit jealous.
Unique over playing knife Zealot. This is a melee hybrid Knife build not a ranged build with a knife (which I played a lot in the past).
Again nothing unique in playstyle.
Well, I mean outside of being able to delete Crusher Revolver also can penetrate multiple elite enemies, have bigger headshot hitbox, have 5 reserved ammo and (probably)less recoil and spread.
and if exclude Crusher killing potential I feel like other precision gun like MG Ia Lasgun, Hellbore or Headhunter will probably beat it anyway in term of ease of use and power. They also hurt less when you miss or hit register being an ass.
isn’t there a bug at the moment with the smoke grenades? Where it just disables some of the AIs?
Hearsay, I must precise

Fair, the agrip can snipe stuff in hordes too though, and it has enough pen with the +power blessing to hit multiple specials, but it’s def not at revolver tier.

I mostly play with those and the Agrip. In my experience they’re on the same level with HHs when it comes to DMG potential, and skill floor. Outperforms anything other than a minmaxed K1a MF+Exe’s build when it comes to lasguns. The Helbore has more DMG potential, but the skill floor is way higher, while the ceiling for both is the same. Overall it’s more versatile than most precision weapons too since the extra stagger gives you insane utility(except maybe for helbores on WS builds as I’ve just discovered in my current tests, bayonets go brrrrr). The catch is that you need a godroll Agrip with near perfect Perks and Blessings, lol
Overall my stance is that it’s a viable alternative to the Zorona. The real problem with it relative to the revolver is that it’s breakpoints are brutal, anything less than 77-77 Stopping Power/DMG is mediocre at best. Luckily it doesn’t have to worry about spread with it’s slugs so if you have to settle you can relagate Stability to be the dump stat unlike most other ranged weapons.
its meant to do that. the dog one is the funniest of them all, on auric mods with puppies attached they are actually meta to me…
It’s probably a fine skill in a premade, but I mostly solo queue. At most duo queue.
I don’t know what my team can handle and sending things over to murder them everytime I hit F is not “pure cope” to call that a bad skill within this context is reasonable.
It’s not about me surviving it’s that rando psyker with 2 wounds curios, or vet running executioner stance and power sword. What they can handle is uncertain.
There is a direct and immediately observable link between the times I stealthed and the times teammates got health chunked, or straight downed.
There’s always a weak link in solo queue. I’m not going to put extra pressure on them. Even from a selfish perspective its a bad call.
Agreed. I have a stealth build I love on vet but I don’t bring it to solo queues. Because yeah, there is a direct correlation to the times I have used the ability and the number of times a wave of enemies turns and hits another player in the back because they are no longer running at me.
Smoke grenades are great though. Gunners don’t bother your team if they can’t see your team.

It does “confuse” ranged enemies (and specials), but I haven’t seen “disabling” the AI.

It really isn’t, this is just the Camo Expert meme thread all over again. Plenty of people back then were getting screwed by bad sentry turret vets. Most of those among them that didn’t bother to gitgud after P13 now are just running VoC/Executioner’s and Plasma/Columnus 5s, being ammo blackholes, and somehow still helping their teams speedrun wipes in Auric T5s. Devs pls remove all those and Auric?! WTF?! It encourages people to suck?! I rarely see people complain about low profile + infiltrate + relentless these days even though it does the same thing as CamoEx, but the turret LARPers now can move and actually need to learn positioning, and map layouts. See the connection here?
Yes, when misused the skill can be a net negative for the team, so while we’re at it why don’t we change or remove knives? It’s pretty hard to get them right too, so when noobs pop in running one they often drag the team down there too since they can’t horde clear or duel elites. Remember all them Pre P13 knife zealot memes? Heck they’re still a thing. What about bolters? Yeah those too. I’m so tired of Little Timmy 30 joining my auric maelstrom run with a 300 rating gold bolter and becoming an ammo blackhole that doesn’t contribute to holding down whatever direction the other 3 can’t carry him on during a fight. These are the kinds of things you’ll see when you go down the logic tree of the argument you’re making on this.
Yeah, I’m going to continue to be an elitist pr^ck here, because the issue here is more about skill and circumstance than it is about the ult itself. Plenty of people out there IRL that can’t be trusted with power tools, construction equipment or cars. Same logic applies here.
I also mostly play solo too, with vet in T5 Aurics + Maelstroms. What I see there is that wherever someone with stealth struggles or causes others to struggle it’s usually because either the individual in question ticks one of the boxes I noted in my initial response or the person who gets “screwed” by the cloaker is often already struggling even before the stealther had popped his cloak for the first time. I’ve even been the guy surrounded by 3 stealth vets/knife zealots multiple times. Just had a game like that today too (went well). Often when I’m on one of my Executioner’s builds too since I run those the most frequently. The only few times I can recall things going badly for me with people running the skill was because I was forced to carry some obese f@cker(s) that somehow couldn’t even duel a single rager to save themselves irl even though they often run meta knife stealth zealot or pure commando vet kit. So then MF+Exe’s veteran spent most of the game just being a melee frontliner for them while they spent most of the game cloaked in a corner getting mauled by hordes after trying to be l33t, going after a sniper/grenadier, and then getting pinned if not outright disabled 10m+ outside of coherency. . . . or they just tried to speedrun, died, and then ragequit.
The few times I’ve seen what you describe legit happen with any frequency if at all is the times when the team gets overrun, cornered, and the guy with the ult pops it if he’s about to be corner curbed stomped. Then causing one or all of the other survivors that were barely treading water to get wiped. Thing here is though, that more often then not the team wipes anyways even if no one is running stealth in these situations. If you’re in here getting autistic over this stuff with me and others, then you know this, and have probably experienced pretty frequently too seeing that you’re also a fellow pub crackhead.
I’ve yet to see a team be put in the hole unless some real unlucky sh^t happens, like the cloaker pops it just as someone starts a reload while in a spot they can’t dodge out of and something they need to shoot or die/be disabled by gets redirected into them. And even that example and others like it could be chalked to skill if I wanted to be an uncharitable edgelord. Unless you’re only running casual runs below T4 exclusively or latency is just screwing that team at the time this is just stuff in the realm of bad luck, Fat Shark Spaghet Netcode(c), complacency, or outright incompetence.
As noted do consider that latency problems likely are way more common than most around here think too. It’s not all necessarily skill. See how frequently “ghost hits”, “hit reg” or “unresponsive input(s)” threads pop up around here, Steam, Reddit and convos in the Discord. If you’re running in a game where the issue shows, and you’re afflicted you’ll feel like the director is just dumping everything right on top of the team nonstop. More likely than not, if you and your team isn’t just straight up sucking that day ya’ll are probably just having bad latency. If you’re not getting hit by the AI director’s lag switch script, then you will feel like the rest of your team got dropped on their heads as children, and were partially blinded and deafened by the accident too. That, or you and the other guy(s) will be constantly reviving the 1 or two teammates that for some unfathomable reason keep going down to 1 or two pox walkers or corner camping shooters they seemed to ignore for nearly a minute. THEN THERE"S THE CURRENT AUDIO ISSUES! These screw people’s ability to be situationally aware even-
My point here being that there’s a Star Wars intro reel’s worth of reasons that certain weapons and skills can be perceived as a net negative for the team when it comes to making things harder or outright making people feel like they’re being griefed. It rarely is the piece of kit itself. Think, and actually test the stuff out and take the time to actually critically evaluate it. THINK! It’s fine to argue that it’s lackluster relative to the other two. It doesn’t match VoC’s utility or Executioner’s DPS, yeah, but saying stuff like it being a “troll skill” or that it screws the team so badly that it necessitates a clutch is just cartoon logic rooted in fallacy and misconception.
I rarely see people complain about low profile + infiltrate + relentless these days even though it does the same thing as CamoEx
I think it’s because there are so few people running Infiltrate and Low Profile. The few games I had with Inflitrate Vets were horrible to play with (due to them not following up on agro dump). It’s like 1 in 30-40 Vet I see, or something similarly low. If it were more common people would make complain threads about it I’m sure.
To be clear I don’t have a problem with Low Profile (and didn’t have a problem with Camo Expert either).
I’ll take back Infil being a troll skill since it’s disrespectful to people who clearly enjoy it as much as you do, but my point still stands. I don’t know who I’m playing with, and regardless of whether or not it’s lil’ Timmy Bolter with his poor ammo management I like to try and keep my team alive.
Infiltrate does not let me do that.
Especially with the audio issues you brought up that don’t let people realize they are going to be backstabbed.
I’m thinking about making a compilation of how many times I’ve been grabbed by completely silent trappers as in not even the sound of their shot goes off. I just see the net on my screen.
isn’t there a bug at the moment with the smoke grenades? Where it just disables some of the AIs?
Really funny you mention this because I played a game today where someone threw a smoke, and a basic Scab Shooter just stopped and stood in place, not shooting or doing anything. Little fella just had a complete existential crisis.
A left-click throw will break your stealth, but a Right-Click throw will not!
That I did not know! Thank you!!!
