Your Ogryn build is very unique for sure.
But, to be honest, many builds for Ogryn is fine, it mostly dependents on taste

I use that too! I just want some outside-the-box critiques for others on here since there are so many Auric players here :blush::blush:

As a Lazy Bum TM would I appreciate if you could use editor @Jonboy suggested - It would be easier to tinker with it and recreate in the Darktide.
If you don’t mind of course.

PS: I will add my thoughts on Vet (1250+ hours) and Psyker (+ 250 h). Have no experience with anything else. Rest of my hours are shop camping, so they don’t count.
I’ve just been told I’m being carried, so I will mope and hold with my opinion on Psyker…

The Ogryn build is definitely my one that I want the most criticism on since it’s quite… experimental.

I’ve been considering swapping out both of my weapons for a Battle Maul + Slab Shield and a Kickback/Rumbler! That way I could swap out my Ability for Loyal Protector to utilize my Shield more in the team’s benefit!

No problem, would you like to me post them under the template of my name followed by the Class name?

For example, Lil_Aryslav Veteran, etc.

I will say, that there are a lot of builds that we know, which work very well(Such as those that are written in the Ogrynomicon(Download it on Reddit, it’s useful for Ogryns)), but I think that experimentation is good, this is how we find uses for less popular weapons, or find something fun.

And, well, if you just want something more effective, then ye, take Shield + Kickback, and take Loyal Protector with +% damage. There is a very good guide on youtube for the Shield if you want to know more(also read the pinned comment).

Thank you!!! This Ogrynomicon sounds like a read

Your zealot build is lacking carapace damage. Not really a problem if your team can deal with it.

But both of your weapons is good for horde clear. I’d consider swapping one or the other for more carapace damage if you want to be more flexible.
Or just use “fury of the faithful” since it synergizes very well with evis and flamer in general and it solves carapace issue as well.

Thank you!!!

Maybe try Shriek with Soulblaze and then Smite them.
Not sure why you prefer the MKII Duelling, i played a lot with MK IV because of the heavy stabs for Muties, Maulers, Ragers…
but i went back to Illisi MK5 actually with Defelctor, but not neccessary imho, waiting to find a Blazing Spirit 4 to even more Soulblaze while in CQC using Smite in between.

recomended and i use the old Box, not Frag Grenade, because i want the Skills realted to heavy attacks (Shield), so also Bonebreaker instead of Stay Close, because you just spam heavies and block push. you can even 2hit a Rager sometimes, because the Shield is buffed and you have the bleed stacks.
edit: MK XIX shovel is also very good because of the special.

Havent played Zealot or Veteran lately, but i also like the classic Zealot with Evis and Flamer and using the new Chorus ability.
imho Stealth is unworthy for Zealot and Chastise/ FotF is allways very good and nice, but i love the exorcism vibe of Chorus.

Vet is my least played class, although a good allrounder, played a lot with the old Kantrael XII, but also tried buffed Plasma. Feels like Voidstrike wasting others ammo

Forgot some things not mentioned in the description which is why “Focus Target!” is great with Plasma gun which is quick charge is still slow enough to let you tag something easily before you shoot it every time.

Heretical tip: You can bind tag to left click for most ranged builds that aren’t revolver. No one has noticed it yet (tee hee).

Don’t forget to swap it back when you hop on your dagger zealot though. They WILL notice that.

Had someone running Focus Target on a left click with one of the kantrael lasrifles; it defeated the entire purpose and snitched on their terrible target discipline while they were bouncing from target to target, then spamming, defeating the usefulness of Focus Target

@Khorne_Dawg mind if others ask for the same? I have some meme builds and some actual attempts to be serious ones to try out.

I stick on my targets until they’re dead so it’s not an issue for me. Won’t be an issue for Plasma either I’d imagine.

Left click tag is definitely something that can be annoying for team mates, and I’ve definitely accidentally annoyed people on zealot when I forget to swap it back to my usual bind (and boy do they let me know), but I’ve literally had zero complaints on the 190+ levels of Veteran using left click tag which I started doing for visibility issues.

No problem! I’d be honored if you and other people would like to add your builds here as well!

Nawww you named it after me :pleading_face::pleading_face:

I love the idea! But yee as was said, it would help if you added the full builds to darktide.gameslantern. I do a TON of experimentation, especially on psykers, and all blitzes, auras, ults and weapons can work. What it really comes down to is everything else and how it all goes together, from every single talent to perks to blessings, even curios.

But even then, some builds will work better for some than others because of player skill. For example I have a lousy aim and reactions but a great tactical sense, so I’m really bad with anything that requires tons of fast aiming and accuracy but absolutely rock with psykers since they have such a massive pool of different tools and tactics. :smiling_imp:

But yes! I love the idea! I want to do this too now. :joy: I’ve played Darktide so ridiculously much since 2022, done tons of tests of my own all the time and even now I’m still learning. There’s always more you don’t know that someone else might! I wish I could add more likes to this topic OP!

I used to use Soulblaze Venting Shriek, but I personally felt like a bit of a burden to my team by having my ability just lighting everyone’s kills on fire instead of popping a shield for them as a tool for them to utilise. The Shield, I’ve found, is very useful for protecting us all against ranged enemies, whilst Venting Shriek is only useful against nearby enemies or if you get a bit too trigger-happy with your funny warp powers, which I’ve already learned to control and that’s why I ultimately ended up using it over Venting Shriek.

I use the Mk II Duelling Sword because it’s the one that I feel works best with cleaning out those smaller enemies, but it can still be useful against those pesky Maulers, Ragers, Ogryns, etc. in a pinch with its stab + overhead (and repeat) as long as you stay on your feet, but the Mk IV is a VERY worthy contender in both of those regards. The Voidstrike seems to deal with most of these enemies at a distance very well and they’re usually weak enough to die in a couple of stabs by the time they get anywhere near me.

I use the Frag Grenade as a “oh Emperor, there’s a few too many of them” and then wipe the slate clean, but the box COULD also do that in the right situations.

I use Stay Close just to, again, focus on supporting my team a bit more since my Mk XIX Shovel is already REALLY good with its heavy special attack damage and keeping the team alive is more my thing compared small damage buff to my weapon that already wipes 90% of enemies in one heavy special attack.

It goes hard when you force an entire horde of enemies into your mates’ Immolation Grenades. I like it very much.

The Infantry Lasguns are really good with Vet, although I tend to use the Plasma Gun for the sake of killing off any of the more… annoying enemies before they cause any real damage. If it’s wasting ammo that you’re worried about, Survivalist has us covered! Free ammo for everyone in coherency and no one will care if you take a couple of extra ammo pickups here or there because they know you’ll do good work with it.

These are just my takes molded by my experiences, though! Your build ideas are just as valid as my own and I’ve even tried ones like them before I posted this!
