Vet can have AoE or ST nades, depending on their kit and what the team composition looks like/needs.
Saying one is flatout out bad just reeks of a dataslave/metaslave who I guarantee turns their nose up at screening for other players but enjoys losing 19/20 games.
Dude youre literally a malice bot. Because the dueling sword exists crushers are constantly dead before krak grenades explode and rarely ever are you killing 3-6 enemies at a time with krak grenades because they almost always kill one enemy and nothing else. The radius increase with tinkerer is so garbage for kraks that armored enemies have to be inside of eachother for you to maybe kill two of them. The only time you ever see someone killing 5 enemies at once with kraks is in melee only maelstrom missions and even then you could argue shredders are better because of the wider radius and atagger they produce. Even with grenade tinkerer they still suck and shredders with grenade tinkerer are infinitely better. Also you arent going to tell me that kraks dont have horrible pathing because they notoriously do. As ive already stated kraks suck and are inferior to shredders because theyre too situational and too unreliable to play with. Krak grenade veterans all play with a skill that lets them regen a grenade every 60 seconds and then sit on them for minutes a time throughout games and in mid/end events because there arent any bulwarks or crushers for them to throw them at effectively wasting grenades. As opposed to sitting at one grenade all game so you can min max grenade usage and get full value of demo team. I always laugh at krak vets in my games who throw maybe 20 grenades a game while I throw like 50 shredders.

There are other ways to kill Crushers, which is a meaningless feat, than with a DS. Trust me.

Bulwarks
Monstrosities
Ragers or anything in carapace armour
And Tinker is not about the AoE for Krak, its the massive damage increase, can mean x3 kraks can take 75% of a monstrocities health away, stumble it, in secounds flat…
