Smite Fix

Primary Fire - Singular target stun, unlimited uses. Generates 10 Peril. Enemy hit is knocked to the ground, but stagger resistance is given to that enemy for a period of time after the 1st stun. Stun does not deal damage.

Secondary Fire - Charged attack that when released fires a single blast that then arcs to and stuns up to a fixed amount of enemies for a determined amount of time. 1 charge regenerates every minute and charges held cap at 3 charges max.

Charged attack generates 50 Peril when used, but caps at 100 Peril and will not trigger Perils of the Warp unless used again while at 100 Peril.

Charged attack also deals a fixed amount of damage to all enemies affected upon impact but does not deal damage over time for the entire stun duration, first target hit recieves the most damage.

Empowered Psionics increases all damage dealt with secondary attack by 200% and reduces the charge up time for secondary attack. Essentially enables horde clear for poxwalkers, but not enough damage on impact to wipe groups of Elites out.

This allows the Psyker to be freed for alternative damage output during the duration of the stun, increasing their ability to deal with high priority elites or clear hordes.

It also reduces the occurrence of continuous Smite spam that greatly diminishes an otherwise extremely engaging combat experience, but the regeneration of charges over time allow stuns available for strategic use during critical moments.

ANYTHING at this point is going to be better than the current version of Smite. Give smikers a banana to throw at enemies if you must.

Haha that’s a bit much but your frustration is understandable. It should still be readily available as a warp powered blitz, just not available as it is now

What’s crazy is that it took an entire year for this conversation to come up, when calling it out back then (along with VoC, Plasma Gun…)would just earn you strange looks and people unironically saying it’s the worst ability in the game

And I’ll gladly accept it, that was a good suggestion you made

Anything is better than suffering through almost 30 second long smites that stunlock up to 60 enemies. It’s not fun at all hitting glorified target dummies.

Whenever I see a smyker I just stop attacking and start slow walking past the enemies, like I’m in crowded mall trying to get to the exit.

smite needs to be reworked for real
it’s a boring blitz currently tbh.

I’m going to continue perma spamming Smite until Fatshark is forced to address the problem.

Tbh I think it’s just the duality of its nature. I mean plenty of ppl were talking about it back a year ago when infinite smite was a thing, but since then smykers have been overall infrequent. Experienced ppl don’t like to use it bc it’s super boring, ultra easy, and totally unchallenging and annoying to everyone else. Newbies do ofc but they’re prone to mistakes, and on T5+ psykers making mistakes die fast.

I suppose it just took time for it to catch up, with enough newbies & casuals (not saying that as a derogatory btw) learning enough of the basics so they don’t instantly kill themselves smiting. So now, here we are.

I mean I’d honestly love to see someone make a video of just 4 smiters, each with EP & Vent or Scrier’s with Warp Unbound. You’d just have a whole map of doing nothing but holding LMB → done, no matter what was there lol. For any mod but nurgle’s blessing at any rate.

It really is ridiculous how completely overdone smite is. I don’t think I can remember a single game with a CC that ridiculously strong, with an AoE & duration as massive.
