You don’t have to reinvent the wheel
All Smite needs is to not be utterly braindead
Exactly like the Boltgun and Plasma Gun which requires absolutely no skill, no target priority wisdom, and basically aims for you, you don’t make them hit like wet nerf guns, you fix those by making their ammo drastically more limited and precious
Exactly like VoC which requires absolutely no other skill than pressing one button every 5 to 10 seconds, you don’t make it weaker, you make using it an actual important investment of a precious resource on a long cooldown
Exactly like Vet grenades, especially the Krak grenade, you remove this utterly stupid auto regen so people learn to use their resources instead of just pressing muh buttons
Exactly like Stealth and Combat Knife, you massively increase Stealth cooldown, and you remove the essentially infinite dodge on the Combat Knife so people actually learn to dodge instead of mashing evasion against the air because why not
Exactly like the Duelling Sword with this silly addition of the Thrust and Agile blessing which were not needed in any way shape or form and just participate in the general dumbing down of the game by letting players just mash buttons without any form of forward thinking
Exactly like Lasguns and Recon Lasun in particular, you don’t nerf their power, you nuke the ridiculous unlimited ammo which doesn’t even require Survival Aura to be self sufficient
Exactly like the Ogryn Nuke, you give them one and only one per mission (looking at you Maelstrom modifier), and it’s not replenishable in any way
It’s not different with Smite, make it actually Peril intensive, easily 3 or 4 times as much, make Psykers blow up if they let it reach 100%
That’s it, you fixed Smite, you fixed Darktide
