FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: WHAT IS VERMINTIDE 2 - VERSUS?

Vermintide 2 - Versus is a new player vs player game mode for Warhammer: Vermintide 2. It will be 4 vs 4 gameplay, and you will be able to play as the Skaven, as well as the Heroes of Ubersreik. Take turns playing on the hero or the dark pact side.

Q: WHY VERSUS?

It’s true, we have felt in the past that as a studio we wanted to focus on our proven strengths - making a great co-op game. We like to think Vermintide 2 delivers on that goal.

We have always had PvP as a mode for Vermintide in the corner of our minds, though. In terms of focus, it’s been in the ‘cool to have’ box for a very long time, but in terms of priority, the core co-op experience remained at the very top of our list. This hasn’t really changed even with the development of Versus.

Versus was conceived during special weeks we have here in the studio, known as Hack Weeks. Hack Week is a chance for teams to work on ideas which they believe are powerful enough to impact the company or to focus on a particular product instead of working on the official content pipeline.

Over the course of multiple Hack Weeks, the bones of Versus was born and it turns out to be really good fun. We feel there is an opportunity in it to bring Vermintide 2 to a new audience and introduce a new way to experience the End Times.

We wish to sustain Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for many years and Versus is simply one of the many new features that we hope to bring to Vermintide 2 during its lifetime.

Q: AM I GUARANTEED A PLAYTEST SPOT IF I SIGN UP TO BECOME A PLAYTESTER?

For now, we are running a limited closed alpha, and if you are found to be a match, you will be invited to our current playtest. If you do not fit our needs at this time, don’t fret! You may fit the profile for our next test!

Q: WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for players from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. Expert or novice, we’re looking for feedback from you! You must be at least 18 years old and have access to a PC running Vermintide 2’s minimum specs to participate in playtests.

Q: WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THE PLAYTESTS CONDUCTED?

All playtests are conducted in English.

Q: WHAT SPECS DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLOSED ALPHA IF SELECTED?

It is recommended that your PC meet the recommended system requirements for Vermintide 2 found on this page here.

Q: WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY PARTICIPATION IN THE PLAYTEST?

If you no longer wish to be involved in playtests, simply write community@fatshark.se with the email address you filled out the form with.

Q: AM I CONSIDERED A FATSHARK EMPLOYEE IF I AM SELECTED AS A PLAYTESTER?

No. Signing up as a playtester does not constitute employment by Fatshark. This is considered a voluntary program. However, if you’re interested in working with us as an employee, head on over to jobs.fatsharkgames.com.

Q: HOW IS MY PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED FOR PLAYTEST SELECTION?

Just a quick question: What do you need or full name for?

It’s for when we send out NDA forms. We can’t stop you from putting whatever you want in there, though.

A new game mode? It’s no longer a separate game then?
Can’t say I’m too excited about it, game’s fractured enough as it is, I prefer the efforts went towards fixes and new maps (even for wastes as the best alternative mode you came up with, sure)

Also, not sure I really want PvP in VT

As mentioned in our streams, we have plans for our other modes. We’re not abandoning the PvE portion.

:face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:I did not expect this ever happening.

Versus mode is so cool , I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time~!
And I see you mentioned "other modes."does that mean “Weaves mode” will be updated or remade? To be honest, I’m looking forward to “Weaves mode” as well.

I hope I get in. Was very excited for this; news of this was enough to thaw my shoulder after Winds of Magic and return to your games at all. I was very sad that it went into the department of maybe somedays.

Are the dedicated servers promised prior to release in order to sell more copies to people who couldn’t stand (or play the game at all) P2P hosting in VT1 also still in the same box?

Serious question though - how will Versus work in this regard? I cannot see a PVP gamemode not being umgak on P2P.

It could very well work, if done well… personally hoping for something like NOSGOTH here (RIP).
As much as I have lost any and all faith and respect for Fatshark’s management over the last year or so, this seems like something that has sprouted from a pet project of someone more passionate on the dev team, which is a good thing.
