Aye. Health on crit needs to be stronger. Could even add an extra hp on melee headshot to reward finesse builds.
Health on Boss kill is far too situational.
Health on kill is too strong for ranged weapons.

Using a fireball on BW is certainly a fresh perspective.
Though I wouldn’t assume that the maybe 30% faster charge you get without tranquility and at middling heat would so massively affect fireball.

Solution for health on crit: Base the health regen on crit DAMAGE, with an upper cap.

I would remove temporary health completely and give everyone (or atleast squishys) a lil bit more health . TH is just too strong. Just look at Sienna or a Zealot… or already someone with crossbow /longbow…

Let the lvl 20 trait be the one from the necklace?? I don´t know which one atm, but let the players chosse between medshare, endless potions and NB there.

Just take some few options on the item then like:

  • Health on Boss kill
  • 50% DMG reduction after you rezzed a party member for 10s
  • Attacks cant get interrupted after a push with half or lower stamina
  • 10% more Power of youre the last man standing etc.

So some actually “useless” traights from some careers which are just situationel and should be available for everyone.

i actually strongly agree with this. i feel they should dramatically change up the traits and properties to give players a wider variety of playstyles, instead of giving meager small % bonuses here and there

Properties are quite fine, just a couple of them need tweaking or downright removal. But Traits indeed need work. A few tweaks to balance them better, a couple are there that are never used, and more interesting variety is always welcome (but is hard to invent).

But this thread has veered off-topic, and to slightly try to steer it back, Here’s and idea for BW specifically: While she feels far better now that I and others have learned to actually use her, I still think Tranquility needs a tweak. It unfortunately still encourages the “cast - wait- cast” playstyle, especially when not fighting a horde. An alternate set of bonuses when it’s off (probably lower, but still) could help. Another could be to waive the Tranquility reset with uncharged spells (i. e. left click), so that we could still do something sensible to random Specials and roaming enemies. I realize that the latter one requires some limitation on Beam, but limiting its use to a few ticks would likely work.

I’m not really sure if it’s necessary, but that could pretent on my playstyle.

I dont know what FS thought about the class , but for me it is the “Battle” -wizard.
Spam out casts and if you’re overcharged, jump in and slay them in melee. Meanwhile tranquility works like intended. If you play with the ultimate reset, it’s even rarely necessary.
Actually Sienna overall (if i just look at the traits) feels like:

BW = half range , half melee, high mobility class
Pyro = pure range DPS class
UC = Melee-offtank class

I would like a buff for tranquility , but then the ultimate should get another perk for “Remove all overcharge” like “spreads a dot”.

By the lore, Battle Wizards are just that: Battlefield spellcasters. They are definitely no frontline fighters and iirc, in the tabletop, you don’t want them there. This is kinda reflected by how BW works in this game, as there is nothing in her ability kit that encourages you to melee. Buffs that benefit her melee abilities are more on the defensive side and considering her Tranquility passive resets when taking damage, I don’t see how battle wizard is anything but discouraged from engaging in melee, as it puts her in danger of having her ability reset. Considering BW gets a ranged damage bonus and overcharge increases charge speed, what exactly makes her anything but a predominantly ranged character with some defensive abilities thrown into the mix?

I think BW needs a movement speed bonus that is tied to her tranquility either being active or not active (10% would be in order).

Tranquility would be a decent ability if didn’t have the “no spells cast” restriction. BW is still heavily limited in her spellslinging ability by not being able to decrease overcharge created or having more overcharge in general. She doesn’t have a high damage ranged special ability and relies on mobility and positioning. I absolutely love playing BW with flamewave or conflag staff. But with conflag, tranquility might not even exist since your overcharge is full so quickly that you either vent with your ability or just vent with health and with flamethrower, the charge is so quick that you basically generate no noteworthy overcharge that you couldn’t clear with your ability. Tranquility isn’t much of a boon there, either.

It’s like they really couldn’t decide how to reasonably limit the ability when class balance was still “on paper”. Considering how strong Pyro’s ranged is and how much overcharge Unchained can sustain before venting/exploding, it really doesn’t make much sense to put such heavy conditions on Tranquility.
