Title. I think making GK immune to curse just like WP, and making WP able to deflect warpfire with shields just like GK, would make sense from lore perspective, and make both buffs useful. Well, I understand that it sounds a bit controversial at first, and probably too many passive buffs for both careers, so let me explain.
Compared to the passive buffs of other premium careers, these two buffs are very situational. The Grail Knight’s immunity to warpfire is very rarely used in practice and brings any tangible benefit. In most cases, sniping Warpfire Throwers with ranged weapons by other classes is faster and easier, and puts the team to less danger, than Grail Knight getting distracted from his damage dealing job and taking his time to 1v1 Warpfire Thrower. Should Grail Knight not carry any shield weapon at all (some builds don’t involve shields), this ability is never used during a mission.
Warrior’s Priest immunity to curse only works in Campaign, and these rare scenarions in Weaves where there is curse condition, and is never needed in Chaos Wastes (correct me if i’m wrong, but I don’t remember there being a curse in CW at all). So it’s mostly designed for only one game mode, when we have three. Should we decide not to carry Grimoires during the mission, this ability is just never used during a mission too.
I can’t think of any other carrer buffs which are as situational as these two, and may not proc at all during the game. Coincidentally, both Grail Knights and Warrior Priests in the lore combine both of these abilities (while resistance to warpfire is rarely mentioned, however, implied by other GK and WP abilities, resistance to curse is mentioned directly among their powers). Besides, neither of the buffs affects respective career too much, so I think combining them wouldn’t affect neither GK nor WP power in any gamebreaking way.
Based on these, I’d suggest, combine both abilities into one single buff, and grant it to both GK and WP? I’d like to hear if anyone had the same thoughts.
