And when all of the enemies are stunned, it does not matter if there is a rager or mauler in there. Because they will be stunned and therefor not interfere with your killing.
They will just be an extra enemy that you can kill.

Maybe you did this bs penance when there were more enemies in hordes… Which is clearly what it was intended for. Xbox cross play seems to have made this penance the hardest in the game.

How many times have you attempted to complete this penance by playing a damnation high int lights out mission and bringing your flamer?

Wait…a flamer? I’m sure I just did that penance accidently in melee on some horde peak. Some of you seem to treat penances as a job.

I hate lights out. I avoid it because I can’t see anything. It’s no fun.
Yeah I completed it using the flamer but it was pure luck that I got an entire chaff horde all to myself. Purely because all the other teammates downed at the same time just as horde happened. That is the only reason I got enough enemies to myself for the penance. Pure luck.

But it was no struggle.
I remember the penances that were a struggle. This is not one of them.

But i know that it would be incredibly easy to complete there.
I played a couple lights out with my purgatus psyker during the past week.
Almost every single time that there was an idle horde (which i think is at least once per mission), i got more than 40 kills out of it.

If i had been playing flamer zealot instead, i could have simply thrown a stun grenade at them, while closing in, then whipped out my flamer and killed them just as i did when i burned them with my psyker.
If you play aggressively, teammates won’t be an issue. By the time they join the fight against the idle horde, most of the enemies are dead and the others have a bunch of burn stacks on them.
I guess that means you have made 0 attempts at doing the penance in lights out.
You probably could have completed it within 5 matches max.
I guess since you never play lights out, you probably didn’t think about the idle hordes.
It’s not a matter of skill either, it’s persistence. It’s not hard to slay 40 poxwalkers.
It is now in the post-Patch 13 state of the game, but it was not a cakewalk at all at launch.
Actually it’s probably easier now when stunstorm has that huge radius.
I’m surprised people are still argueing with the guy that got apparently mindbroken by one of the easier penances 99% of the playerbase got by accident ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Persistence and/or the skill to put yourself in the situation that enables you to kill 40 stunned enemies (knowing what to bring, where to do it, and playing aggressively, so that you get your damage out, before the teammates strike).
With more skill, you won’t need a lot of persistence.
With a lot of persistence, you won’t need a lot of skill.
Only 10% of the playerbase have completed this older penance, so maybe your assumption is wrong. Wild guess!
Amazingly it seems everyone who argues with me to say how easy it is - has done it so long ago (when the game was different) that they can barely remember even doing it, yet believe they know what’s it’s like attempting to complete it here and now with the current gameplay state and parameters.

And yes “ego” - y’know being able to admit when something is difficult - but no, you and the forum squad can one-shot everything as its all child’s play to you guys and you know everything about everything. You completed the game by accident whilst you were out sailing a megayacht with your eyes closed and both hands tied behind your back, before the Internet was invented. Pure ego. It’s boring af. I’ll happily admit when something is genuinely difficult. And if it’s difficult for the wrong reasons, such as completely unreasonable parameters (which have changed since you did it in the before times, no?) then I’ll have something to say about it. Like most people in the forums. Kinda what the forums are for.
Every single other penance I’ve completed, that wasn’t a grind penance, I did on the first day of attempt. Yet this single penance took almost 2 weeks and I still admit it was down to pure luck (wow what an ego!). If I was as bad a player as you think I am then I’d have struggled with a few other penances by now. I’ve fairly explained why it’s difficult on multiple occasions and I see no logical argument to counter it except people saying they don’t know how they did it or can’t remember as it was so long ago. Try it now. I’m sure you’ll see how luck is absolutely required in abundance and unlike any other penance.
