Shader Error 1 upon launching

Issue Description:

Hi,

after clicking play the shaders seem to crash at 96% with the following error:

“Something went wrong in the Shader Cache Builder process. Exit Code = 1”

Then Game opens for a quick second (blackscreen) and crashes then with the “We apologize for the incovenience”-Screen.

Tried the following:

  • Deleting Fatshark folder inside AppData/Roaming
  • Wiping GPU Drivers with DDU and reinstalling
  • Using only iGPU
  • Purchasing the Game via Steam (while having it on MS Store) to see if that works x)
  • Reinstalling
  • Reinstalling .NET Framework, VCRedist (x64 and x86) and DirectX.
  • Changing Normal Startup inside System Conf. to Selective Startup and deselcting “Load Startup items”
  • Setting Work Shaders to 1

Ima bit lost. I read that it happens, when minspecs are not reached.

13900K
4070Ti
64 GB DDR5 RAM

should be more than enough I hope x)

Hoping for help.

I’ve discussed this with our Engine Developers and I’ve been informed this is a particularly complicated issue.

Some players have been able to work around this by editing a registry key, but this isn’t something I’d recommend for the sake of making Darktide work.

With that in mind, would you like me to help you with a refund?
