Same Rework Quality Extends To Veteran

Job Well Done!
Ogyrn rework was maybe best ever rework we have ever seen in from Fatshark, acknowledging every aspect. Melee Weapons, Ability Tree, even base stats and Ranged Weaponry. All done in a course of 3 months of initial change.
The Communication level was better than before during the rework too, we got multiple early peaks into the changes.

Hope This Job Extends Here Too…
When it comes to veteran, there have been 2 major changes both back in late 2023 (which did introduce nerfs & buffs), 2 light ones in 2024, which were half-baked patches, while also 2 updates in 2024 were nerfs as in Scavenger Nerf and Grenades Nerf.

  • Bugs regarding veteran skill tree & weapons for almost 7 Months and yet not fixed.
  • Many Nodes that are outdated due to new game mechanics.
  • Nodes that got sunsetted due to power creep.
  • KeyStone mechanics example. HvT Yellow Ping (Voc Tree Keystone), deletes all stacks if changing target, cant multi target, spotting/pinging bug etc.
  • Blitz “Grenade” Mediocre Performance: was smoke only , now 2 with low performance Blitz options due to power creep.
    (Krak Debatable; was fastest killer of Single Target, now 8 weapons mixed of melee and ranged can kill heavy target before Krak grenade even explodes.)
  • Many other Minor points exist too!

I really hope Veteran Skill Tree, Weaponry from melee and ranged gets a overhaul.

Off the top of my head my problem with vet tree is right here. All for for different reasons.

It was OP.

There wasnt any scaling and the odd crusher or Bulwarks were the hardest we had. Nuking them all with Kraks WAS OP. The game has changed drastically sicne then. Only zombies think that anything said back then with regards to balance holds water.

And theres an army of them.

Veteran’s issues are very minor compared to Ogryns. They have/had the most diverse tree, the most talent point options (98 to Zealots 74) and the largest passive damage boosts.

Its weaker choices could use some love but also its powerful some nerf. Removal of many flat nodes similar to Ogryns would leave room for fun new talents along with fixing the old and possibly streamlining the trees similar to Ogryn.

Say 2 middle talent nodes instead of 3 for easier crosses, cutting out the top 3 flat nodes and replacing the later ones with new talents.

Smoke Grenade & Keystones being the weak
Shout and CDR being the OP points

Krak has become obsolete due to DS4 being able to take care of Crushers and basically anything.

That and bleed grenades with uncanny strike.

Address DS and uncanny strike instead of power creeping blitz.

None are bad, its just Krak became very situational and many options now preform better than Krak, removing its role sadly.

It was nerfed by around 40%, then buffed by around 20%. still 20% missing.
