Saltz axe/falchion

I must be frank, as someone who primarily plays the Bounty Hunter on Saltzpyre, the axe and falchion is so damn satisfying to use, but I will freely admit it is way too strong. It both swings very fast, and the fact that it has amazing ARP value makes it the ‘sole’ weapon people would even begin to consider. It’d be nice to see it knocked down just a peg, either with it swinging slower, with lower ARP value or simply lower damage. Though I feel like it doesn’t need to be ‘nerfed’ to much considerable degree, as most weapons Saltzpyre has is very much so viable.

Rapier is for classy men though.

I think we all know what the only soltuion is: Rapier and Flail dual weapon.

too light attacks , no power

It absolutely destroys on WHC. He’s a headshot monster, and AnF is a dual weapon that’s really easy to land headshots with.

I really do feel fancy when I’m using it.

Rapier should have built in parry to get even classier.

Jokes aside, I didn’t even tried in game the A&F cause I’m not a Saltz player, but just swinging in around in the keep, I think I’m on the “it’s too strong” side.
Light 1 is straight horizontal, which is awesome for headshot in hordes, push into light 2 3 is full falchion, destroyer of hordes, and it got a reverted Sword & Dagger heavy chain, starting with overhead for dueling elites (which makes it better than S&D to me).
And all of that with AP on light 1 and 4 (didn’t try to chain them with heavy tho), and more stamina than falchion. The real downside is the 45° angle.

So I know my point doesn’t really matter as I didn’t played it for real, but imo it deserves a small nerf. A small one but impactful, stamina maybe ?

It really does not even need nerfing to its swing patterns (apart from maybe the push shove which is beyond stupid) it primarily needs to do just less damage than the 1h counterparts and removal of the idiotic increased dodged range.

On WHC, light attacks don’t break stamina. :wink:

Little nerf to dual weapons.
Little boost to single axe and single falchion to make them viable in Legend.
Medium nerf to Zealot class.

Problem solved.

How about I nerf your favorite class ? destroying someones fun with the class , before you trynna nerf someone class, make sure your is perfect

The problem is ppl cry for weapon nerf. But its not that OP as it looks like if its not used by a tanky class zealot.

Nerf this Nerf that 24/7, better ask for a buff for your favorite class and enjoy , All these Heroes R teammates to one support another , not PVP , bruh this escalated quick

This is the problem with the weapons. If someone decent uses them, they can solo the entire game. The tankiest Career in the game using them with BoP has the most offence of any Career. If one person is able to kill all of the Hordes, Elites and Specials before you can even react that takes the fun away. It’s also really forgiving, which makes it easier to do all of that.

A+F = too much Horde/Elite/Boss damage
BoP = too much Elite/Special/Boss damage while being semi-auto. It can kill Specials better than most other ranged weapons, even on a Career that’s supposed to be mainly melee.

Yeah, but there’s like thousands of players every day playing this game , so how much players can do that ? go solo Tank? some people aren’t that good and just enjoying a certain class with all the “buffs” just because someone is better doesn’t mean you have to nerf someones favorite class to

Some people know they’re cheesing it, but they also can’t bring themselves to not use the strongest option. Wierd, but that’s the way it is sometimes.

I am a min-maxer when it comes to gaming. Looking for optimal combinations is a meta game, so people will do that.

Right now A+F is so overpowered there is no reason to play anything else. It’s stupid.

Then you have people like SICKOMODE who think it’s fun to wreck everything in sight without any skill. To those people I say: Go back to Champion/Veteran if that is what you enjoy.

Give the rest of us options which are challenging and on par.

Imagine what carnage would ensue if Slayer dual axes had the exact same damage profile as 1h axe.

Not that OP ? it has the single highest damage output out of nearly any weapon in this game, desirable swing patters, increased dodge range, incredible cleave combo, incredible armor killing potential(on god dam LIGHT attacks?). Heck i could list pretty much every good thing most 1/2 handers in this game has and it would have those factors. Honestly in the hands of WHC it does probably even more damage considering how the tagging + grim power + crit/as increase work for it. In the hands of a BH its easily the most defensive weapon you can have as saltzpyre so why would you use anything else?

Like seriously go and play with the 1 hander counterparts and come back saying its even remotely balanced compared to those. It honestly makes the early glaive look crap in comparison.

Should i also remind everyone here that krubers mace/sword got actually nerfed shortly after it was released due to it being too powerful while axe/falchion has only gotten a buff ? Ye go play couple rounds with that thing and tell me its even remotely close to power in comparison to axe/falch.

Everyone here seems to agree it needs a little nerf only. I bet some of the casual that sorely play for fun couldn’t even tell it has been changed if they don’t read the patch notes.

Let’s say you come to wallmart and I ask you to pay double, because you don’t know the actual price

Everyone with even a few hours game time can tell you the A&F is overpowered. Just because you have fun with it, that doesn’t make it any less over powered. I have fun with it as well. But with the right build, you can 1 shot all mobs up to a mauler, and even then, you can 2 shot if I remember correctly. Then you have the BoP, with the right build, you can burst 60% of a bosses HP in 3 seconds. The weapons are really good on WHC, but on zealot, they are insane, far worse than any other OP weapon discussion we’ve ever had on this forum.

The fastest boss killer after Zealot BoP is a handmaiden with hagbane. But even that takes 18 seconds to solo a boss. The zealot does it much faster. Obviously excluding shade with a conc pot.
