I almost exclusively solo-queue and love the flow of the game with randoms. They are the spice of life.
But there are also times when I want to just roll alone, like when I’m expecting a call at some point in the next couple of hours and might have to bail on a match. I don’t want to do that to people, so it’d be great if I could play solo.
Thankfully for me, there are mod(s) that allow for this. Specifically, Many More Try, which allows me to gain progression/materials as I’d expect to from playing. But console players don’t get that benefit.
Solo play was said to be nearly-complete, and it was mentioned before launch. I believe that FS shelved it because they wanted the experience to be better than the basic bot bad built bullying we can experience using MMT (above) or Solo Play (which doesn’t provide progression/mats) + Tertium 5 (where you can use your characters as bots, but they don’t use abilities and whatnot).
But I still believe they should release it. It’d be good for players who want solo mode, and it’d be good for FS because I believe it’d pump player numbers, they’d sell more cosmetics, and they wouldn’t need to suffer unnecessary server costs by implementing online-but-self-hosted solo play using sanity checks.
I hope it’ll happen soon, but acknowledge that there’s more to making it a quality system, on par with the crafting rework and talent tree rework, than just flipping a switch.
This is such a dumb ass argument, I’m sorry. I’m sick of seeing it.
Halo is a single player RPG with multiplayer as an option. There was outrage that the latest game didn’t offer an offline campaign because that’s the core of it. But you’d better bet your ass that the outrage would have been just as large, if not larger, if multiplayer was not in the game and it was just a single player campaign.
Imagine, if you will, you were waiting on the new halo game with baited breath and they told you “hey guys, multiplayer isn’t ready yet. But it will be!” and then 2 years later it’s still not in the game. You complain and other players say:
why have people been asking for multiplayer in a single player game for years??
is it that hard to understand?? It’s not made for multiplayer!
It means nothing to you, as every other halo game had multiplayer. Just like how: every. Single. Extraction horde shooter. Has. Single. Player. Except. Darktide!
Reality is if they promised something it should of been released. Fatshark completely ignoring it is on par with them ignoring their need to release QoL patches. Instead, they let modders do all the actual QoL work for them.
