Issue Description:
When I go to launch the game through Steam, I get stuck on:
“LAUNCHING
Running install script (Microsoft .NET Framework)”
It used to be that I could launch Vermintide 2 and this issue was for Darktide, but I did some sort of ‘fix,’ and now it’s the other way around.
I’ve completely repaired my .NET framework installation both by installing the aspnet thing and by going to control panel and letting Windows do it automatically. This worked for me last night and I able to play, but now I’m getting stuck again and the fix does not work.
I’ve tried repairing EAC too
I’ve tried going to the file directory and using the different launcher executables
Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone:
happening for awhile, and US eastern time zone
Reproduction Rate:
Constant (100%)
Upload Supporting Evidence:
[Screenshots, recordings, links to Twitch VODs, etc.]
Side note but I have also tried reinstalling the game. When I was looking online for a fix I came across the advice to launch, then open Task Manager and end the .NET Framework task, and that works. Would still prefer a permanent solution
Hm okay, thanks for the update! I’m glad to hear there’s a workaround for now at least.
So we can look into this further, could you please launch Vermintide 2 and provide your launcher log (if one is generated) after you’ve become stuck on the .NET Framework script?
Press the Windows key + R
Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
Locate the vermintide2_launcher.log in this directory
