Cooldown could be increased to 15 seconds and it would still be good. As BB currently is, I wouldn’t use it without Flayer or mayyybe Empowered Psionics.
The 100% chance to kick start perilous combustion on a group and get a free kill with 0 effort is the problem to me. Psyker has so many “play the game for you” abilities.
It’s still mid or worthless, depending on build.
It’s on every psyker’s build I come across and it does noticeable work independent of the build, inferno, any gun, any melee, just turns any hit into a 1 shot fairly often through the mission.
Why use it on inferno staff? Waste of a talent point, you don’t choose which enemy will be nuked, it can be some mauler that at the point of burst would die in next tick of soulblaze. Same, but to a lesser extent goes for other staffs, but at least on them you can use left click attack to be sure it will burst who you want.
As for melee builds, it can be used, but i just don’t see how once every 10 seconds brain burst makes a meaningful diffirence when your average damage is already 700k+ in aurics. What do a diffirence is some other talent you can pick instead, that would boost your surviveability or give constant damage boost.
I got only two builds i use it on, one is melee bubble psyker, because i have free point and i don’t have gaze, i need some additional damage and i already took other damage nodes. Second is debuff voidblast build, with rending shockwave, i does kinda low damage, so that’s additional damage boost, even if it’s only on a random enemy. Sometimes i can use prime attack to maybe one shot flamer or some other high threat enemy.
I already said it pops an elite early in a group to spread perilous combustion faster and because inferno doesn’t have any burst damage. Inferno is already so stupidly strong out of the box that it doesn’t need any % damage increases, so I fail to see how it’s a waste of a point. Sure it’s damage can be wasted on harder hitting attacks, just as any other talent isn’t gonna have 100% uptime all mission but it doesn’t require any thought from the player.
It literally work with any build for periodically burst of damage with just one skill point while other option(smite, assail) required you to interact with the ability itself to get the benefit.
It’s pretty much no brainer choice if you don’t want to use hold smite or spam assail.
I agree that it should be changed. I just don’t know how it should change.
it’s called optimization, you don’t distract yourself with blitz to perform other more useful interactions ))
And that’s called coping.
It’s a single target Blitz. Given the plethora of destructive AoE Blitzes in the game, one Spec/Elite dying to a BB Flayer that procs periodically isn’t that egregious.
flayer is only thing that makes BB viable anyway, don’t see any cope here
No, it only feels bad when you aren’t using one of the 2 nodes that speed up it’s cast time and even then, it’s 0 effort elite or special kills.
I don’t agree, I used a whole build around BB with all boosts for it (resonans and EP), it’s not really usefull, speed up effect too short, EP not really worth it, specialists doesn’t give EP charge so it’s a waste, enemies that you really need head pop fast doesn’t die in one hit
and with current enemies spam this badly aged blitz is almost useless, perhaps when DT on the start was more like VT2 it was ok, but now it’s super underperforming
I’m pretty sure that using staff or gun I can kill more of valuable targets than with fully boosted BB and faster
