Funny you mention Crusher, while using it for mastery it felt like a dollar store thunderhammer. Anything it could do the TH did better.
Currently working on mastering the Relic blade now. Def feels like a slower weapon, does good for dealing with trash but struggles with harder targets like Maulers, Ragers and Ogyrn.
Not having too much trouble with ragers myself using the block poke, but agreed with all the other hard targets… The charge/sprint attack is kinda clunky, but that with FOTF definitely one-shots a crusher… IF powered… problem is, the trash mobs do exactly what they’re supposed to do and will obstruct your attacks wasting that charge on anything that isn’t a hard target or what you intend sucks.
ragers are not a problem with the relic blade.
Maulers / crushers, the blade is good only if you put the +25% against carapace.
Ogryn, good if you use purge the unclean.
For me, this weapon is really balanced. If something would need to be increased, it is maybe the carapace damages. Not even sure it is needed.
What I see in the scoreboards is players that deal good damages with this weapon. But still need more time. But what is sure, is that the weapon itself is really strong as it is actually.
The vet PS can deal better damages against elites, however the weapon itself is really strong, even too strong. But the drawback (slow swap, slow move, dodges) does not encourage players to pick it. So, not a problem in my opinion, and considering how many players pick this weapon.
Maulers needs +carapace then just spam overhead heavies, should kill rather quickly.
Ragers are easy pickings as a horizontal heavy to the head staggers packs of them. I can’t remember if you need Grievious Wounds to stagger them out of their combo though.
I’ll swap the perk on it to +Carapace and see if that helps. I am used to slow weapons since my weapon of choice for the Zealot is the Thunder Hammer. Blessingwise I’ve been doing for Energy Leakage and trying to keep the weapon around 50 heat so I’m getting some bonus and have room to actually use it if I need it for harder targets/thicker hordes.
You want to avoid overheat because unpowered state has functionally the same cleave as some 1h swords(or worse, when compared to heavysword) and does not stagger attacking ragers.
That’s part of why it’s so mid, because the blessings don’t do much to fix its issues. You can try to reduce the heat, which blessings don’t help much with; or you can try to increase the cleave, which blessings also doesn’t synergize well with - since it’s a relatively slow weapon for building up wrath stacks.
This I do very much agree with.
It is a incredibly unsynergized weapon. the weapons blessings that has a ton of mismatching factors. The rewards on a perfect block are to low imho for what some blessings other weapons gotten you have some of those dodge buff blessings on other weapons that are insane and then we get 10 extra attackspeed and like a second of the heatgage.
It did get undertuned. But its a release weapon the odds is that it gets changes in the future.
I mean Thammers where incredibly undertuned too and look at them now they are fantastic.
It took Fatshark a while but they did improve it.
Lets just hope we dont need to wait about 2 years for this one XD
Perfect block blessings are garbage. I agree on this.
This is far better than the 1H power sword. Lot of times, I don’t energize it to kill groaners / poxwalkers, just to be able to energize it if a ragers pack come.
The weapon is really good. As I said, the +25% carapace helps a lot against crushers/maulers. Purge the Unclean is good to enhance the weapon against unyielding.
With the X, you go up to 50% weakspots if you pay attention to what you do. Heatsink works incredibly with this weapon.
About cleave, the weapon encourages you to go for critical builds. Devastating strike works pretty well. However, energy leakage can be enough good to increase a little the cleave, something sufficient considering the melee fights.
Wrath is surely good, but I would not use it on a slow weapon like the Relic sword.
Syphon is not something I will use on a zealot.
Cranial grounding is nice but not the best option to reduces heat (heatsink is far better).
Rampage is, at least that’s my opinion, not really a good blessing. It is good only for horde cleaning. But considering the power of this weapon, it is not really needed.
Devestating Strike is terrible on every weapon that has it because every weapon that has it has access to better cleave blessings. The blessing was overnerfed.
It’s even more terrible on Relic Blades. Why would go for a blessing that gives 80% cleave 30% of the time with a specific Keystone when you can just take Wrath and get more than double it’s value permanently in a fight.
