Thank you for your report! I believe this issue is caused by the game showing the wrong plasteel cost for the operation - try getting a bit more plasteel and doing it again.

Can confirm its not showing correct cost of plasteel (and diamantien). Nor for the next 10 rerolls.
Same for another curio i upgraded and tried to refine.
