I know, there was a similar post 2 weeks ago aswell.
I´m just saying “attack them” since a lot of players are always about to dodge or push, as they did back in V2, which doesn´t work that great due to desync, the coding or whatever. Attacking works most of the times so…
I really don’t get these complaints about unreliable stagger. All weapons and enemies have different stagger power and resistance, respectively. You cannot reliably stagger them with many weapons, sure. So don’t. Fall back to push, making them hit an object in the front of you. Knock-back when the dog is pouncing is part of its design, afaik (remember) shared with the assassin in V2. I never had a push fail me on the hound, AS LONG AS I timed it well or ended up too far away from the dog, which then suddenly pounced at me again, before I ended up interrupting it with an attack.
I’m sure latency is a factor here, but this tends to affect dodging mutants in my experience more than anything else. Again, personal experience.
With many specials it is preferred to switch to melee to improve your dodge chances, due to how dodge works?
So what is the buggy feature here, beyond the fact dogs can occasionally bounce off something and find themselves above you / behind you etc. outside your field of vision?
I would drop the assumption that people saying the hounds need to be retuned haven’t done extensive testing and have a lot of playtime. The problem is that you can do the same thing that should defend against (or kill) a hound every time, but due to the games shoddy code it turns into crapshoot whether or not it decides to work. That’s without going into how wildly they can warp around a map on everyone’s screen. The things are coded poorly for the games server setup.
I never said that, so far I haven’t quoted my playtime to “reinforce” my argument.
I have no idea what warping you are talking about, unless you mean their tendency to suddenly change direction, occassionally 360s or bouncing off walls and objects. Yes it makes them more unpredicable, but except the 360s, and their sudden verticle hovers they occassionally do after missing you, I wouldn’t consider them buggy.
Mate it´s highly consistent to me and said it already before… so of course if the next one shows up being like “dodging or pushing don´t work in 90% of all cases”, which i can pretty much confirm, then i´ll tell them what works 90% of all times for me, and that it´s might worth to try and adapt.
Dunno if it´s your connection, bad timing, corrupted gamefiles or whatever you can believe. But it´s no nonsense or something grabbed out of the air. I attack with every weapon in my characters hand and in 9 out of 10 times… it just works. And the 10th time is mostly about hounds jumping through a horde, so i see them way too late anyway.
Just takes practice. Pushing them is much more consistent, dodge the mutants and trappers. Don’t be discouraged if something is challenging to you. Learning how to overcome a challenge makes you a stronger person not just ingame but in real life as well. If you still can’t handle them after practicing, stay close to your teammates, I’m sure one of them will take the hound out for you.
I seriously don´t know how it “triggers” you or something if someone just says “If X doesn´t work, may try out Y, it works fine for me.”
Also any kind of feedback helps to solve issues, not just “It doesn´t work, it´s bad programmed / designed, look at this video.”
If there are more poeple like me who can deal with them through attacks or pushes, and i´m sure they exist, then it´s probably more of a ping or server-related issue than a bug in their behavior.
So your experience is right but my is wrong? What is this kind of logic?
I admitted even in the last thread, that i encounter the same issues with dodging etc, but attacking works. I really don´t know what´s narcissistic or not helpful in that way. When it works for me, it can work for others, unless i´ve a perfect version of the game, which i clearly don´t have.
I´ve never been like “No this is wrong, this can´t be possible, please git gud!” aswell. All i do is to share my thoughts either based on my own experience or facts like the numbers in the testcenter. So really please calm down.
Darth_Angeal, JanZamoysky, and EmDriver
I dm you my steam code, come play with me. I don’t wanna argue with you. Come prove yourselves. We’ll do damnation hunting ground.
However, Darth_Angeal, you are not accepting dm. Can you change the setting?
I found a random pox hound vid on youtube.
The dog teleported to the left after the jump, then processes to jump through a bunker in the end.
Keep denying the fact that this thing is buggy so we have to play with it forever?
Push works, yes
dodge works, yes
attack with stagger works, yes
EVERYBODY KNOWS. The problem is this darn thing becomes buggy more often than anything else in the game (eg. mutant throwing you into a wall) and it’s annoying. Visual/audio cues become less reliable when it’s buggy. It needs a rework. Go ahead and keep protecting this bad coding/design.
Seriously i don´t know where you read such claims as Lovetruffles obviously does too.
Of course the movement of the hound is designed to be highly random due to its disabler-nature and it just can´t come from everywhere like the assassin in V2 does, so it need some other tweaks to be a fear.
But noone said “You´re wrong, hound is completely fine or something.” We all know that they´re buggy here and there, same with mutants or even silent trappers. All what i personally said is, that i´ve the same issues with dodging / pushing. It´s not consistent as it is in V2 on assassins. If you or the other one wants to open a big barrel, because poeple can deal with them one or another way, then i really don´t know what to tell you.
Again, attacking them is highly consistent to me and some poeple might try to get used to it aswell, since i can also confirm the other issues with dodging, pushing, being stagger-resistent while on players etc…
Believe me or not, i don´t care… But i´ve never said “please don´t fix them” or “please ignore server-issues” or whatever cause different situations with different enemies, because i can deal with them in some way. So really calm down.
“Do x and it works for me” insinuates either it’s not an issue or the other party is doing it wrong. Doubly so when you repeat it when someone chimes in with “It’s not working consistently for me”.
Of course it is, but it´s also a lot of interpretation into something never said, especially when poeple claim that they confirm some stuff but found a way that acually works pretty consistent.
And if something works for some players then it´s also an info for the devs being like “Ok, why does X works, but Y not…” like in my case, “Why does attacking works, but pushing not?!”.
So they can actually compare the coding in such cases or boil it down to server-related issues which might be even a local server if all players from e.g. US west have way more issues in this regard than US east or EU. There´s a lot about it and i really don´t get why poeple don´t get that everything can help to solve issues and that it´s not just “I don´t believe you, my game runs perfect, please don´t fix anything.”
Since the beginning, you came and say to attack a dog mid air because it works for you 90% of the time. And other ppl trying to tell you it’s not about when it works. If a dog jump at you normally, there are ways to deal with it, and ppl know.
“Again”, we are talking about when the dog movement become buggy, it is annoying and makes it difficult to use visual/audio cues to doge/attack/push or whatever your strategy is. That’s why we want a rework on this thing.
So that fact that you only offer your solution tells me that:
1.) You don’t agree with the idea that the dog needs a rework.
2.) you have never seen a buggy dog which is fine, maybe you are lucky. But a lot of ppl here have seen it and they need a rework. If you haven’t seen it, move on because we will never talk about the same topic.
Yes i did. But i´ve never been like “Please don´t fix everything because i can deal with them.” or “You´re liers, it works fine since i can deal with them.”, or whatever you think.
Also i can´t know if you tried it to get used to it or not. But i know the fact that i encounter the same issues like you described, so of course if something works highly consistent, i´ll tell you “Try this, it works fine for me.”
I really don´t get what´s wrong with it.
This is just a lot of assumptions in your and others head tbh. Just scroll up where i replied to your “I´ve to switch on melee for a guaranteed dodge” - claim. All i did was telling you to attack since
and even said
Because i can confirm that dodging etc don´t work properly and yes, that they sometimes teleport etc…
And i said something similar in the last thread about them. But really never whatever you brought up here. But yeah, fixing them doesn´t have to be a complete rework.
