why do ragers get a whole extra meter of phantom range on their attacks?
either tweak their weapon models to match their attack hitbox more closely or reduce their attack hitbox to match their weapons, magical ghost slashes suck
this issue is not exclusive to ragers but due to their aggressive nature and attack combos they feel like the most egregious offenders
Things aren’t visually designed around 3rd person. But ragers do have strangely long range that is quite noticable in first person, i use default FoV and have noticed this many times.
yeah, the range itself wouldnt be as big of an issue if their weapons actually looked the part, like once you learn of this you play around it but it’s still hard to not be constantly fighting against the instinct to think you’re safe due to their weapons being so far away
The same issue exists with Maulers and Crushers. I hate it so much when they hit me with a top-down strike even though I am standing diagonally to them with some distance. Visually their strike is so far off that it’s silly…
I wish my top-down hammer strikes had such a large hitbox.
yeah but it feels worse with ragers due to how fast they run and their long combos, it’s one thing to be hit by 1 big extendo hit, its another trying to accurately determine where you are safe against the rager’s psychic combo
I also have an issue that rangers cannot be dodged at all unless it backwards.
Their attacks just ignore side dodges completely.
Not that you’d dodge an entire combo from a rager but in V2 I usually did 1 sidedodge and then staggered them.
Their first attack is dodgable if it’s a single attack however.
But maybe this above is also related to the hitboxes. They are hitting you from the sides aswell
