Radeon 9070 only uses 90w and has bad performance in this game only

I have an AMD Radeon 9600x and 48GB 6400mhz ram with an Overclocked 9070Pure.
Before i had a 2080TI

Now i have the following Problem.
My card is set to draw 270w.

It does so in Remnant2, SpaceMarine2 and Nomad Benchmark.

However in DarkTide only in Menue it draws 270w…
As soon as i go ingame it only draws 90w and Performance is terrible.

So far i have disabled SMT and tried to Disable RayTracing in the config.
Nothing worked.
I can only play on medium settings to get above 100fps

There is clearly something wrong with the game.
My old GTX 2080TI in the very same setup (i only changed the GPU) did draw 245w and performed better than the 9070

Hi Andi, before anything else, please could you try performing a ‘Selective Startup’ to see if any external program is interfering with your power draw?

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
  4. Deselect ‘Load Startup Items’
  5. Reboot your PC
  6. Launch Darktide as normal, and see if the issue persists

I can try in 1h but i dont have this problem in any other game…
only in Darktide. So i would be very surprised if this changes anything

Tried it and it changed nothing… card still only drawing around 90w with bad performance
I mean its playable if i cap at 90fps and only use medium settings with FSR3

but come on…
new 740€ graphics card that can get stable 130fps on SpaceMarine2 in MAX Settings while using 270w

And 6609 Score in Nomad

needs to to go medium settings and framecap to make this game playable ?
ridiculous.

You can also see its 45c cold… and it uses 90w out of 270w it could use.
This simply has to be a mess either from Darktide side or from AMD…
But so far this is the only game i have problems with

I solved the problem by fluke…

i went into AMD Adrenaline Software and forced some settings reagrding colour corrections
and suddenly my card ignores all ingame settings like fps cap or Super Resolution.

I now have 180fps on high settings lol

And game uses 87% of my GPU

So the Solution was to somehow make your card ignore the ingame video settings.

Can you be more specific about the changes you made and where they were at? IM having the same problem. Game is only utilizing like 50% of the card and Power only going to 80w but other games are fine

I was going to say, I have a 9070 XT and this game runs pretty good on it!! I’m glad you got it sorted.

you should use Hyper-RX for this game, drop you in game setting resolution to one step below maximum and see the magic!
