Which one comes closest to Darktide? Do any of the characters in Darktide exist in any of the books? Like, Melk, Morrow, Hadron etc. ?

IIRC nothing in Darktide is in the books.
The closest to Darktide is probably the stuff that Dan Abnett wrote for them, which makes sense. He’s considered one of the best authors of ‘normal’ humans in the Black Library’s stable of authors, and he’s the big name that they dropped to promote the story here. Gaunt’s Ghosts and Eisenhorn are good places to start imo.
