It absolutely can be a “no” in regard to “no, we’re never adding it.” I’d be disappointed and would never buy a Fatshark product again, but I’m already at that stage. So?
I’d like to follow up on this a bit.
When you say the wider team has “visibility” on these discussions, can you clarify what that actually means in practice? Like, is solo mode something that’s actively being discussed internally, or is it more in the category of “seen but no one cares”? Is it on any kind of internal roadmap, even loosely?
And if it’s not something that’s being considered for 2026 or even 2027 (or ever…), it would honestly be helpful to know that too.
I’m not asking for promises or timelines, just a clearer understanding of how this feedback is being discussed internally and whether it’s influencing planning in any way.
Thanks.
What I mean is, it cannot be just a no… When you promised something, you may have a reason to not do it, but you have to state the reasons.
I would not buy that, but at least it would be an answer.
Coming here and saying again " this is not in our priorities " would be unacceptable.
And to say the least, saying that when you added havoc, mortis trial and maybe next is expeditions would just make me more angry.
I know that I cannot do anything else that spreading the word about how they consider their customers… but sure at least I would do it with love and passion
ohhh! I gotcha. Yeah, I 100% agree. Give us a real reason if it’s not going to be added.
And yeah, it’s a bit “silly,” to try and be polite, that a promised gamemode isn’t a priority but new gimmick game modes are constantly being worked on and added.
But do you guys appreciate building a transparent respectfull and honest relation with your auditory?
Being able to voice concerns doesn’t matter when you speak with a wall.
When last DT dev stream was? Q&A session?
It would be nice to hear “we are happy with the current balance, it fits our vision” and “no psyker loop is fine, purgatus is fine, staves design are better then Sienna’s ones”, “no we have no plans for jungle biome”, “crusher blobs spam is peak gaming”.
it is a bit disappointing that after actually responding to the thread, @FatsharkJulia has not responded in 4 days.
The fact that we got a reply at all in here is amazing.
but still, I’d like to see a response to the questions posed here. by @Scipo0419,@anon61080228 and @Ralendil
I think whenever a CM mentions some concern or issue has been “passed on internally”, it’s important to remember that a bowel movement in a toilet stall is also “passing something on internally”. The feedback is probably getting flushed by whoever it reaches.
Actually for me this was one of the great things that kept me playing VT2 for way longer than I ever would have normally: levelling up all the other character types in order to have better bots with better gear. Otherwise I never would have put time into leveling up characters like Bardin or Sienna (apologies to any Bardin and/or Sienna fans reading this). My favorite character was always Kerillian with Saltzpyre a close second. I would have stuck with those two only if I could have. But having played and leveled up Bardin and Sienna, I came to appreciate things about them that I never would have otherwise. In Darktide - I stuck to my two favorites - Vet and Psyker - and pretty much ignored Zealot and Ogryn ostensibly to my detriment. And I refuse to purchase Judge Dredd or the Rage Ganger. If they ever release a solo mode, I’ll immediately purchase both. And yes I totally get that FS could ****ing care less about my measly $30 but it’s the only vote I have in this situation so I’m casting it.
By the time I had finished getting all 5 to 35, I had 2 careers per character that I’d play, and it got to the point that I’d use a “spin-the-wheel” app to pick what I was playing lol.
Kruber: Footknight > Huntsman
Bardin: Ranger > Slayer
Saltzpyre: Bounty Hunter > Zealot
Kerillian: Shade > SotT
Sienna: Unchained > Battle Wizard
I do own all 5 DLC careers and enjoy playing them, but aside from SotT the base careers are all more fun to me. I will still decide to play GK instead of FK or Warrior Priest instead of Zealot at times, same with Necromancer over Battle Wizard and Engineer over Ranger for Bardin.
I’d happily re-purchase and play all 6 classes in Darktide if I could use them as my bots in solo play, but Fatshark hates me and my money
I adore this game, but since having a baby I haven’t played, because I’m not interested in starting a multiplayer session that I might have to bounce from at any moment. It’s really as simple as that.
Let’s talk about some games I still play on the regular;
There is absolutely no excuse.
Remind me the last time they said that and came back?
Still waiting for an answer regarding new Hive Scum cosmetics.
as I said…
and I perfectly know…
So, I know the employees CANNOT speak to us unless someone releases the leash.
However, Fatshark is well known to need months to write a statement that has been polished so much that you get the minimum of information.
I hope… I pray… I really would like… hope… and anything you can add, to be wrong.
And believe me, I add bookmarks after bookmarks and will keep posting here until we get an answer… I will post also in each patch thread opened… but I really think they don’t care AT ALL about their users.
My feeling is that they are saying to me: “Continue… we don’t care. Go %#$^ off” with the finger raised…
I firmly believe that the devs, CMs, and even the CEO of Fatshark care deeply about the playerbase, but politics, as in any business, gets in the way.
Take Blizzard, for example.
They used to be extremely player-driven, interacting with their community, organizing meet-ups, signing game boxes, and so on, but when they got too big for their own good, all of that changed, and Blizzcon, which used to be the place where players met developers, became this overproduced Oscar’s gala slop show where the team leaders (not the average dev, but the top brass) glazed themselves like they were rockstars, something that is very similar to what the Game Awards have become as of late which was originally a award show meant for gamers, but now it’s just a marketing show where they hire expensive celebrities that has nothing to do with gaming.
Unfortunately, this is the way things are nowadays.
You do something very well, and everyone wants a piece of your pie and a chance to make more money while bastardizing your product and destroying every foundation you built your small company on.
The days of good old ID Software, working out of their garage and producing bangers, is looooong gone.
Remember when the word Ubisoft was not a slur?
I believe that employees are between the hammer and the anvil.
But there is a person, or the board, that thinks that not communicating is the right stance here. This guy should be fired for the reputation he has built for the company.
If it is the CEO, then he should delegate to persons that can understand how to handle business.
Not communicating at all and releasing the bare minimum when forced, is really not the right answer.
Exactly.
Fatshark is super weird about comms.
What they can say: 2%
What they can’t: 98%
I’ve never seen a video game company operate like this. Hell, any company that isn’t shady shouldn’t operate like this. I work for a company that does defense contracting (among other things) for the US Government. We were one of the companies being selected to build the next lunar lander. NDAs and Clearance requirements out the wazoo, and the general public knows more about what we’re working on than Fatshark’s playerbase knows what Fatshark is working on. Because there’s a massive difference between “here, look at all this classified information as I breach this NDA” and “Here’s a general overview of what we’re working on that isn’t classified and is allowable by an NDA.”
Aka A FREAKING ROADMAP!!!
Slap on a “this roadmap is subject to change at any time” disclaimer and you don’t have to worry about meeting deadlines set by the roadmap. Stop hiding behind bad practices and negligence and operate like a functional company for crying out loud
1200 days (171 weeks) have passed since Fatshark said you can play Darktide solo.
You’re missing the bigger issue. In affirming that the devs have “visibility” on these discussions, and that FS thinks it’s important that people can express their opinion, FS is pretty much committing to complying with basic human rights when it comes to free communication.
It may not seem like a lot, but it’s something.
Hey I’m stoked to get a response on this at all! Thank you for confirming that our complaining is at least visible to the Devs.
We will keep at it until they are forced to confront this promise one way or another.
Being vocal and annoying has a good history of getting us somewhere so keep up the good fight all!
