Punishing the wrong people

all you need is the combat blade and shroudfield, I wouldnt say thats the top 1% of players, i dunno though ive come across tons of bad players so maybe :man_shrugging:

There’s no feeling of an approaching victory in the war either. Victors don’t run away from the defeated like scared rabbits every time

That’s a real shame. ChatGPT actually recommended this game to me because it was supposed to be like that — and at first, it really did seem that way. I thought it was perfectly possible to kill everyone and couldn’t understand why everyone kept rushing forward like madmen. Then I realized that at least in some areas, enemies spawn infinitely — and now I’m wondering: are there even any spots on the maps where enemies don’t spawn endlessly?

First sentence is true. Second sentence is false.

Rushing ahead is rushing ahead, no matter how many people do it.

Stop inventing excuses and accept the fact that you are abandoning a teammate behind.

In Darktide you can kill all ambient (non-randomly spawning) enemies. They don’t keep coming.

I almost always kill all of them then move forward.

Corollary is also true.

If there is a spawn ahead and no one else is affected by it, then you are rushing.

Mostly true, but there are exceptions. Teams that rush directly down to the bottom of the stairs on beginning Silo Cluster are rushing and usually die even if all 4 team members move together. There is such a thing as rushing into death.

Same issue strongly affects Clandestium Gloriana. You just can’t rush ahead on that map. Barring ways to cheese fights through terrain exploits, door mechanics, etc., there are some fights that can typically only be solved by sticking together and dealing with what the nearest trigger threw at you before you move on to the next.

I believe there is a creme against that.

ended the mission they spent 20+minutes on successfully instead of throwing it at the last moment.

good ol’ billy didn’t even stall the predator for 2 seconds with his heroic act

dude had the plasma already charged to blast arnies ass the next scene, so maybe people should take the lesson and hoof it to the exit.

the game SHOULD punish people who think they can afford to stay back and take it slow in an attrition horde shooter game, there SHOULD be that feeling of pressure to keep moving, and the dynamic of infinitely respawning enemies but finite resources SHOULD mandate a certain pace

go get that bread and hit the w key, gamer

Jokes aside.
I agree with that.

I often enough was killing a bunch of disablers and such in the back
to which the others were not paying attention.

In the end a good team has an eye for both the front & the back
and if only one guy takes a peak in the back once in a while
and the rest just moves forward,
that can end badly for everyone involved.

Yeah, dealing with it, saving your backsides.

It’s called Inferno by Warp No 5…

Not really, since if no one’s lagging behind the mission is usually a lot smoother.

yet you always have one of these guys who stay behind determined to slay the last poxwalker, or even run out of the airlock again.

takes them some time to get it that they being there is the reason why they keep spawning.

makes ogryn want to grab these punies by the scruff and toss em in there.

Yep. Those who can’t keep up are left behind. Welcome to the grimdark future.

I don’t think anyone is being wrongly punish other than individuals who isolate themselves willingly, either from running ahead of their team or staying behind to kill one pox walker. This is the case in auric and havoc where teams need to move with some gusto as the longer the match goes on, the more hordes that spawn. Granted, a team should speed up or slow down based on the situation. But if you’re guy who is window shopping and your three team mates are already at the elevator door, then you deserve to be equally punished as the guy who puts ā€œrev it upā€ on their chainaxe and runs ahead.

Stay behind all you want, but have the ability to defend yourself against specials then at least?

This feature is mostly against AFKers as i understand it. You die and teleport in front of your team, no harm no foul.
