Comments:

As of this bug report, this has only occurred once. Also, it may be intentional that these unique hounds do not satisfy Going Out With A Bang.

I think the dogs are ā€œspecialistsā€, not ā€œelitesā€, so that may be why you can’t get your penance done that way. I’m not sure of the wording on the penance tho.

The best set up for this is ā€˜Logistratum’ or whatever the Espionage mission on Enclavum is called. Groups of shotgunners or gunners spawn near the entrance to the event area on set timers and they get one shot by a psyker explosion seemingly even on high difficulty but since this is a troll assignment you should run it on Malice. You can even stall the event as long as you’d like not fixing the skull or calling the elevator and there’s a medicae nearby.

Sorry, this was meant to be a reply to you: As far as I know, Specialists are under the umbrella of Elites. The idea being that all Specialists are considered Elites, but not all Elites are considered Specialists.

Thank you for your advice. This report is more of a question of why I was not awarded the achievement when I seem to have fulfilled its conditions. If it is a bug, it would be good for them to investigate it so that other players can more easily complete this penance.

It isn’t a bug though. Only Veteran resupplies from specialist/elites apply to both despite only saying specialists, and I think his are the only ones that use ā€˜specialist’ and not ā€˜elite’. In every other instance in the game that specifies elites it means elites. I have similar feelings about the Ogryn feat that gives cooldown on elites, it would be amazing if it were specialists too.

The hounds are indeed Specials.
