Psyker flame stealing the kills

Yes. I Have noticed in auric maelstrom when psyker flame soul blaze every enemy they will always get the credit for the kills. Annoying If you try to complete penances. Many have started to run away From the flamer to kill unflamed enemies.

And if you think it’s just so strong nerf it then if it can kill every enemy before you even if you do all the work. No you need to disable kills from psyker flame.

Aaaand when I play Psyker people always “steal” my special/elite kills by lasthitting them and denying me my conditional buffs. This whole mechanic is funtamentally idiotic.

If you want to complete Penances Mortis Trial is very easy to do those and you can get almost all by simply playing the Game, forcing yourself to play a specific Build over and over again for some penance is the least and worst thing you can do.

Feels like there are valid points here people are missing to throw shade at each other already. Maybe “on kill” mechanics need to be examined before buffs/nerfs to specific things?

i dont think thats actually how it works is it? my kill feed still lists kills as mine if i shoot/swing into a psyker fire

are you sure the psykers aren’t just actually getting those kills because soulblaze + uncanny is op as sin

although i would be fine if all the on kill stuff was removed in favor of betetr mechanics that don’t rely on killstealing, you would think after the vt2 temp health issue they would learn

Yeah the ticker for the psycher attacks must be insanely fast as it catches the kills on other people’s grenade explosions and other things that it has no right to.

I’ve raised this before and been shouting down by dismissive quaffs on the forum so gave up.

But yes the psycher is an absolute killcount hog. I just stay away from psychers if I’m doing a penance.

Prime example why theres no Scoreboard in the base Game….how are people even complaining about this lmao. Damn that Psyker stealing all my Kills in a PvE Game for an Penance i can get by just simply playing the Game for a bit

Because it’s unsatisfying, clearly a side effect of a janky mechanic, a blight on penance progress, and likely affects many players if using a blessing that activates or stacks on kills…

But sure go ahead and belittle and laugh. As long as you’re fine with it then that’s all that matters.

And are they so important to trigger when the Elites/Specials are already dead? It is more important the Elites / Specials are dead…than for some Perk to trigger.

Do you complain about Bleed Stacks stealing Kills too? Or an Zealot with Flamer? Or someone in general who does a great Job at clearing is guaranteed to ‘steal’ your Kills and prevent your Perk from triggering.

I never had an issue with that in almost 1000 Hours playing the Game almost exclusively Auric / Auric MS nor has it ever dawned on me complaining about that.

If you complain about Psykers Purgatus Staff / Soulblaze ‘stealing’ your Kills…i don’t know what to even say about that…but then it would only be fair to also complain about other DoT and AoE Weapons like the Flamer stealing your Kills. God forbid you don’t get your 10% Tougness Replishment or whatever Perk to proc because some Elite/Special died due to someone elses DoT / AoE Effect.

Yeah im happy with it as it is. Someones individual penance progress doesn’t matter and shouldn’t be taken into Account at all - and i got almost every single Penance in the Game. Never had a single Problem with any of them but the Zealots Shroudfield because that one just sucks and the ones you need a friend…

And how is it an janky mechanic? How is it unsatisfying? What would your Solution to it be?

Like with the Penance Progression i could make a whole Post about how it sucks that people are actually playing the Game and clearing Hordes - while im trying to get the Bull Rush one with Ogryn….its just dumb.

I don’t mind discussing it further or being proven wrong and changing my opinion on it. But so far i don’t see how this a problem at all. The single only thing i can somewhat understand is the part of not getting your Perks to proc but i never once myself had that issue. Even with an Psyker or Zealot ‘stealing’ all the Kills…you should always reliably get a couple of Elite/Special Kills yourself and it is more important for the Elite and Specials to be killed as fast as possible - which Purgatus Staff, Soulblaze, Flamer and what not greatly help with than for someones Perk to proc.

But the whole Penance Part is just nonsense. You can get every single Penance in the Game buy just simply playing the Game for some time. Thats a you issue if you hard-focus a single Build for an Penance and force yourself to go for it in order to get it as fast as possible which is the single most worst way of playing the Game and not something the Game, FS or other Players should even consider unless you specifically ask for Stuff like ‘Can you let some Enemies group up so i can push them down a Cliff with Ventien Shriek’ or the likes.

Just to clarify something. Killing a mob that has soulblaze on it will not automatically credit the psyker with the kill. The person that “finishes off” the enemy gets the kill (unless there is some sort of bug I’m not aware of).

However, what you’re likely seeing instead is an escalating chainreaction from a psyker talent called Perilous Combustion that procs on elite kills.

If a psyker has put soulfire on an elite and it is killed (regardless of whether you or the psyker kills it), it will spread 3 stacks of soulblaze to all mobs close to it, including other elites.
This can quickly spiral out of control if a lot of elites are stacked together tight. If 1 or 2 elites die, suddenly surrounding mobs get huge numbers (3-6-9… etc.) of soulblaze stacks fast. If they’re already at high stacks, this will likely finish them all off very fast.

At very high stack numbers, the soulblaze dot ticks for a lot of damage. That’s where you see these huge bursts where psykers are credited with a bunch of elite kills. It’s because a soulblaze tick probably did indeed finish the mob off.

SB stacking needs a rework, but what’s new?

And those matter how? Is there some game-altering reward for getting X number of kills? Do penances require that you not speak up at the start of the run? Is there some requirement that says if you do not do Y in Z game within T minutes you’re life will forever be ruined?

No.

If someone is working on a penance/ whatever it is THEIR responsibility to speak up and ask if the group can help. To expect otherwise is the default definition of a “Karen”. In other words a massively entitled person who expects everyone around them to cater to their immediate wants and feels that they are above the rules & expecations that govern who other people interact.

Its not hard. I did most of my characters original penances at release when a zealot or psyker in the group meant 2/3 of your screen time was flame effects. I did the rest when revolvers were a near-guarentee one shot and carried by everyone but orgyn. All it took was asking - sometimes by voice, more often by typing. If the group didn’t want to? Always another one.

Oh and the whole “beating an exploding grenade”? That is called order of opererations. Newsflash - computers can NOT process actions simultaneously. Its physically impossible without quantum computers due the code being carried out one line at a time. You think events are happening simultaneously because the computer can process said instructions and display the results faster than our brains can do the same with the visual information.

Whichever effect was in place first would be applied first. So if the event that applied the flame happened such that its tick was 0.002 seconds in the servers cycle before the grenade exploded that set of code runs first. If the mob had less health than what the flame tick did it kills it. Effectively a micro-scale version of someone with a DS taking the last sliver of life off a crusher just before a krak grenade would have gone off. Sucks? Yes. I’m sure plenty of snipers have felt the same when their target stepped on a land mine or caught a stray bullet just before their own shot hit. It happens. To everyone. So get over it and move on.

Ah and I see that once again the incredibly thin skin of this “community” shows up. Someone comes in literally demanding nerf to a class because they want more kills, gets called an idiot, and in come the horde to report.

No wonder people complain about “cancel culture”. Its like the moment someone gets called out for their behavior a horde of rabid twits descend to validate their lives by silencing the person who dared critise another person. Each claiming that its to “protect” someone else’s feelings while ignoring that maybe the person who spoke the idiotic statement injured the other persons “feelings” and so they corrected them. Its as if humans have lost our ability to find meaning in an existence that is more than instant gratification and rage.

yeah it can be pretty important if there’s more elites and specials coming. you dont have to defend trash design just because you didnt think of it when you gloated at first

You are the one complaining about the current way it works not me…at least then give some recommendations as how to fix and improve it then…and not just bruh someone is stealing my Kills in a Horde PvE Shooter…like if you don’t manage to get a couple of Elite/Specials Kills in a Match to proc xy Perk while an Psyker or Zealot are spamming their Flamer….thats a you issue…
