I won’t beat the dead horse, there are several other posts detailing why the Vet tree is a problem. For those who cannot or do not wish to go read those, the short of it is the tree is heavily restrictive and filled with seemingly random tax nodes that serve no purpose but to make certain things cost extra points to grab (as compared to the other 3 classes trees, which have very very few such nodes in comparison).
Leading up to the patch, we were essentially told/promised that the tradeoff for Vets not having Keystones was that they would be more “free” or “versatile” in their tree to mix n match bonuses. However, the exact opposite is the case and Vet has in fact the most heavily restrictive tree by far in this regard- outright forcing the Vet to dedicate entirely to long chains of nodes in order to reach the ones of true value.
So, I propose here a solution (in Google Spreadsheets form, as I lack the artistic ability to replicate the tree) that actually delivers upon the initial promise. If, by some god given miracle, a Fatshark dev is reading this- please, take this to heart. Use it, if you want- I do not mind. You need say nothing, make no mention. Just do it, pass it off as your own, make whatever adjustments you feel are necessary. So long as the Vet gets a tree which actually delivers upon the promised versatility, I will be happy.
