I’ll be seriously upset and will not recommend this game to friends if there too aren’t private lobbies/games. A bunch of my buddies are adamantly opposed to playing with randos. We like to play together over voice and chit chat while playing and have the space to goof around without randos upsetting the vibe.
FATAHARK - CAN WE PLEASE GET AN ANSWER TO THIS TOPIC!?
Bumping this again because wow the lack of any sort of dev response is genuinely concerning. I would think at the very least the number of people who are talking about refunding would make them take notice.
My friends were speculating that this and the third person public hub are all in an effort to push cosmetic microtransactions. I don’t know if that’s really the case, but I can’t think of any other logical reason they’re being so quiet about this. Is this what the future of Darktide will be? If so, this game will not stand the test of time.
If there’s no word on this before launch, refunding is certainly warranted.
I played in the last closed beta and people raised similar concerns back then, at least on discord.
They didn’t respond to people wondering about private lobbies a month ago and they still don’t less than two weeks from launch.
If there was any chance of private lobbies at launch then I’m sure that they would confirm that would be the case.
As someone who’s played VT2 for at least 400 hours and bought all DLC, the lack of a response on this for the last month is disappointing, and I think it’s time to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.
They just don’t care. Refund.
Yes, I played the current beta over two hours. I got into the previous beta but was out of town during it, frustratingly, so I hadn’t played it.
You can refund pre-orders at any time before release, and once released the usual two week/two hour rules apply from the time of release. It isn’t early access, since the game hasn’t actually released yet game time isn’t counted, I suppose. At least until it releases since I doubt they separate time played like that.
Eh. The third-person hub, maybe. But does anyone really have an urge to show off their bought cosmetics to a group of up to three random people who will mostly be looking anywhere but at the other players?
No idea, honestly the only people I’d care to show off anything to would be my friends, in a private lobby. Like what would I care if someone goes around in a $30 skin? I ain’t payin’ that much even if it’s 80% off.
Yah unfortunately I’ve put in more than 2 hours but EAC is bad enough without also being able to play in private lobbies. There is zero excuse not having this feature in Darktide like the previous games had, so I hope Fatshark hears us and officially responds so many can determine if they want to refund the game or otherwise pass on it.
Just here to say, I’d love private lobbies too. I didn’t pre-order but planned on buying it after release and would love to run with just close friends, as in these kinds of games randoms are usually unreliable or try to sprint through as fast as possible and it can be frustrating sometimes.
I’ve said before but you can refund it even after 2 hours.
Refunding a pre-order PRIOR to the release date, not a game in early access those are two different things, is able to be done no matter what (as far as I know, I’ve yet to hit a block). Once it RELEASES you have the two hour/two week limit. Prior to release you can refund for any reason.
Just coming back here to say, I actually got a response from Aqshy on Reddit. They’re going to be putting out some sort of communication this evening to address this as well as other popular complaints.
Remains to be seen what “addressing” actually means, but I thought I’d share regardless.
Apparently*, Attila on the discord said it’d be in at release, but I can’t find the post in question. If anyone can find it, I’d be glad if they linked it here.
*This was mentioned in a thread on Steam and on the discord.
Adding in my voice. Made an account just to do so. I’m very new to the Tide games (since Sunday) and I’m not especially good at them. It has been really nice with Vermintide 2 so far; I can play solo, at my pace so I can learn the mechanics, explore, take in the story, all while not getting harassed by toxic players. I love the 40k universe, but without private lobbies (with or without bots) I’ll stick to mining rocks and stones with Bosco & Molly
