I would like to see an improved mechanic for activating special items such as stimms and health/ammo crates.
I always just want to instantly use the item when the time arrises, instead of “getting it out to have a good look at it whilst in the middle of a mosh pit” and then have to press another button to throw it down, wasting valuable time on multiple animations and button presses.
Can we have it so holding the equipment slot button for 1 full second instantly activates the item?
Or even just tapping the slot button instantly activates (this could be toggled on/off in gameplay menu perhaps). You can always scroll through weapons if you want to stare at it for a while.
And yes I’m aware there is a mod but I don’t use mods and id actually just like to see improvements in the game by the Devs.
A lot of mods should be implemented in the game… I would even think that they should do that as a priority cause:
Console players cannot use mods
It is better to have it in the base game
Someone has worked on the concept, making easier to implement it in the game
So, this would bring an improvement of the game that would benefit to all players without too much work.
Also, if they implement it in the game, they can ameliorate it or change a little how it was made when it was just a mod.
Oh! I don’t think I’ve noticed that before. Yeah that sucks.
Something else this riles me about this is the weapon switch bug. I pretty much have to switch weapons twice every single time I want to switch between melee and ranged and having a stimm etc as part of that mess can be irritating.
You missed it? they already did it several times.
The contracts you can see in the tab overlay is an example.
When they added an icon that was showing us that this blessing has already been acquired.

Speaking of passing items, the item hand-off is atrocious, maybe due to it being tied to animations? If I lock onto someone to pass it off, it should magically appear in their inventory, even if they moved 3cm to the left.
Oh and deleting items can still happen AFAIK if someone picks up an item while being passed one, or 2 ppl handing off items; it happened recently IIRC.
HA! Fair, usually in pugs it’s stimm handoffs, but I swear someone handed me a med crate once on ogryn; did I dream it!?

I even had one dude express disappointment as we both raced to a medcrate and I got it first, he worried about people wasting them, but then he added “well, you seem like a good player so I guess it’s fine”, we both had a laugh as I told him that’s why I race to the crates too.
I do that pretty often… but cause players refuses to check chests and take crates even if you tag spamming it… so several times, I had to go to the group, give the crate, then come back to pick the other crate and return again to the group…
Of course, the guys won’t wait.
often times this risk/reward scenario is at your peril, given the skittish nature of randos.
to the point i rather drop the “less important (usually ammo)” in place for everyone to take or leave be but not put myself in a less favorite position and later paying for the item with my health.
if havoc has one thing going for itself is people being self aware about ressources cause its in your best interest to keep your mates fed
